I just spent all morning reading this story, and it is so good. I just loved it, and I know it's been forever and I day since you've updated, but I really hope you keep writing it. Oh, and a little prediction on my part: Mark's dad is sick isn't he? I feel like that's what you're foreshadowing.

I stayed up rather late reading this the other night, and forgot to review in the morning, so I'm reviewing now!

One of the things that has always bugged me about RENT is the fact that Mark has a really bittersweet ending. He finished his film, but he's forced to watch all of his friends struggle around him. My mother and I went to see a community production last week, and at one point she leaned over and said, "He doesn't even have a love interest at the end? This is bull shit!"

And every story I've read post-RENT pairs him with some Mary Sue, and everyone's just so happy all the time or everyone dies...

But this might be the definitive post-RENT fic for me, I think. I love how you have Mark DOING SOMETHING. And it's completely and totally in-character. Mark would never, ever give up his film, and you've done a terrific job of showing Mark's growth as he ages and learns while still keeping him true to himself.

This story is amazing! Mark is my all time favorite character in Rent and this story is exactly what I've been wanting to read! Keep up the good work :)

Wow! Took me a couple of days to get through this story. I love it. Really well structured, detailed and thought out. Kara isn't a shallow creation either, and fits in really well. I love the meaning behind Mark's decisions, and you write him really well. Nothing seems unbelievable, and I can't wait to see how you'll conclude it all. Great work!

At last I am caught up with everyone else who has been reading your amazing fan fiction, Jennamajig. I'll now leave a longer review from what I've gathered from the story.

This story blows my mind with its direction and emotion. While some conflicts and the dips and rising of tension and resolutions seemed repetitive, plot twists came out of nowhere and that was interesting to read for the entire story!

Your research and knowledge is a real gem among fan fics. Most people don't take the time to put this much effort into their stories, but that is what made this one so intelligent and rich.

Lastly, I love the idea that Mark has changed so much as a character, yet he still can't quite break free of that need to be the observer. He does not know that he runs his own story, and not just watching everyone else' lives go by. It makes me wonder about the conclusion you have in mind for him, and I can't wait read it!
