Wow... that's got to be the best Hikaru no Go fic I've ever read. It's my favorite couple, too. I feel lucky. Aside from that little typo that was mentioned in someone else's review, I can't really find anything wrong with this. The characterization seems accurate and entirely natural. The last section with Hikaru all alone in the park has some very deep meaning behind it. It kind of makes you look at how Akari is acting in a different way. I think she did the right thing, but you can't help but feel a little sorry for Hikaru.
I loved this. It would be great to see more of this couple from you.

It was perfect. The characterization, choice of words, the interaction between Mitani and Akari, everything was simply breathtaking. And most of all, the whole thing was just so believable... Awesome work! ^^

Really beautiful, almost lyrical style of writing. I love the Mitani x Akari interaction and everything seems so in character. I like to think this is something that happened 'behind the scenes' of the actual manga and anime because Hikaru can be a jerk and Akari deserves better. And Mitani is just so cute!

Wow... now that was deep. Wonderfully written and certainly unique, even if the storyline holds a hint of the cliche towards bittersweet romance.

The characters were well portrayed, and I loved the way you gave depth to Yuki Mitani and Akari. Leaving sweets on a bench... now that's creative!

There was one sentence that was phrased wrongly, if I'm correct. The part where Yuki goes, "Hey... You should be out here..." I believe it should be "shouldn't be out here".

Keep writing; again, a wonderful fic, and I wish you the best of luck with future works.

YAY! You made a Yuki/Akari fic! I love them and they're so rare.

This should so happen in the actual series because Akari deserves so much better than Hikaru who never notices her feelings for him or how much she quietly supports him in the background. Mitani is a much better choice than a Touya-obsessed Hikaru.

As much as I hate to say it (I'm a HikaAka fan!!), Hikaru really deserves that, for all the time he was mean, stupid and just so... Hikaru, you know? Anyway, I'm glad you were able to pull this off quite well, it's not everday that you find a good quality nonyaoi fanfic on this section.
