spacemonkeygal 2008-11-17 . chapter 19Wow. I can't say enough about this chapter. I read this story I while back and I loved it then. Reading it again only reaffirmed my original feelings. I think I can safely say that this is one of my favorite FanFiction moments. Thank you so much for sharing!! |
MiaRose 156 2008-10-03 . chapter 23Great story. |
jasminesmommy 2008-07-27 . chapter 23great story i enjoyed it from beginning to end |
jasminesmommy 2008-07-26 . chapter 7ok what does that old guy have up his sleeve ? :) |
ferryboat George 2008-05-14 . chapter 23Ok, I totally didn't see that coming. The poor guys always seem to have trouble when they run into Ancients :P Outstanding story, and I can see why it got an award. I was thinking Rodney was going somewhere else with that Shepherd moon thing, since Sheppard is a bit of a stabilizing force on their team. |
Pukah 2007-09-17 . chapter 6I'm re-reading this because it's one of my favorites fic and I'm having withdrawal sympoms that won't recide probably till the fourth season.
Anyway... I just got to this part of the conversation:
"But this isn't a space station."
"Of course it is," McKay replied, frowning. "What else could it be?"
The man stared at the scientist, his eyes narrowed. Then, oddly, he smiled.
"Okay, it's not a space station," Sheppard said slowly. "So what is it?"
The leader's ice-green eyes fixed on the colonel's, amused.
"It's a moon."
And couldn't help but to laugh XD because it reminded me of Star War's 'That is not a moon, is a space station.' quote. |
Amon-Ra3 2007-09-06 . chapter 4Aren't the ring platforms Gou'ald technology? I know that the Gou'ald use a lot of the Ancient's devices but I always got the impression that the ring platforms weren't Ancient devices. The story is still well written. You're doing a good job on it. |
kiku65 2007-07-28 . chapter 6That's no space station... it's a moon.
You let that go by without ONE Star Wars reference? Im... shocked. Truely shocked. And so is Rodney. |
atlantisteammember 2007-05-21 . chapter 1Sweet story. I read all of this all in one sitting, and I really enjoyed it. Great job! |
Korilian 2007-04-22 . chapter 23Damn. So much for calling the wacky time travel adventure back in chapter 11.
I've been avoiding this fic for ages, because it sounded so plotty (hello 23 chapters!), which was clearly insane, because you wrote it so; instantly awesome! |
Korilian 2007-04-22 . chapter 11I'm calling it right here! The creepy old guy is Mckay in a wacky time travle adventure! |
heartfallen 2007-04-22 . chapter 23This is an amazing story! I started reading it and coundn't stop. I loved it! Excellent work |
Lirenel 2007-02-09 . chapter 6I don't know how many times I've read this story, but this is the first time something clicked in my mind: Basically you're saying, "that's no space station. It's a moon"
You would think a former Star Wars geek like me would get the inversion there.
Again, great story, I definately love it. |
Era Yachi 2006-11-05 . chapter 23*standing ovation* Okay, okay...I should have reviewed 1,0,0 times before this, but I couldn't remember the name of this story. I kept thinking...'Dammit, what is the name of that story with that really, really great scene with McKay and the transporter rings?' And for the longest time, I couldn't remember! It drove me crazy.
And then this won a Stargate Fan award, and I'm like...'oh...there is is.' So anyway.
Everything in this story took me by surprise. And the interections were great, from the team to your original characters. I really love Enceladus, by the way. He's extremely well-developed...I'm only too sad that he had to go. He reminds me a lot of a very, very, very old McKay. And it was fun to see Rodney get treated the same way he treats most of his subordinates. At least Enceladus ascended...and the friendship between him and Osheen was generously emotional. And the last scene between Rodney and Sheppard had me smiling, too. Very, very well done.
It seems everyone loves the scene in chapter 19, and for good reason. Many stories are based around a single thought or idea, and what you did with this one was extraordinary. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it, really. Mainly because it's a very Rodney-like thing to do in his situation. It's not even overly dark, just very dramatic. Sheppard's reaction to it all almost made my heart burst, I think. Even Caldwell's treatment of McKay's 'death' was touching. Everyone was so completely accurate in terms of personality. Heck, I was expecting for you slip up any moment and write something utterly OOC, but...well, excuse me for the continued onslaught of compliments, but...it was just outstanding the way you held it together. The characters had me convinced they'd jump right out of the screen and start wreaking havoc. I'm stumped. And speechless.
*looks at giant review above* Er...okay, well, not speechless precisely, but pretty close. You get an imaginary award for writing a story wonderful enough to make grouchy old me write more than a paragraph review. It's that good. *nods* Here's a thought--trying reading from chapters 19 through 23 while listening the BSG sountrack. I guarantee it will make anyone cry. The combination of your talent and the music had my face leaking for quite a while...
Oh, dear. I should stop now. I should be studying. Well, you know I feel about this story. Absolutely. Wonderful.
Oh, and...we were all fledging writers at one time. It's nice to look back, isn't it? It helps encourage not only ourselves to write even more, but others as well...like me, for instance. I found this story to not only be a great read, but a very inspirational, motivating piece to boot. Where would anyone be without stories like this? Indeed.
Cheers!
