Great job! I love Beatty's internal monologue. It aptly illustrates Beatty's internal conflicts and motivations as I had envisioned them. Thank you for the creative connection between Mrs. Pfirman (hot name- pardon the pun) and Beatty.

As to constructive criticism, I'd maybe introduce/explain your "monster" (hound?) a bit more. Again, I love the omniscient access to thoughts, but I think you might develop the setting descriptions (as perceived by Beatty) a bit more as well.

Overall, though, kudos for an inspired and creative entry!
