I've been wondering when this would get updated. I would think an interesting direction to take this might be for both Shinji and Asuka to either request new quarters/living accomodations (if Rei can do it, so can they), or for both to run away together, or both to request being moved to a different guardian, perhaps Ritsuko. This would force Misato to realize she went too far.

Alternatively, a similar wake up and treatment of Misato after one of her bouts with alcohol might be in order. Could start a prank war.

I like the first idea better. No matter, I'd read more whether you use those ideas or not.
