When I first saw this story I read the first few chapters and enjoyed them, I wanted to see how the story would turn out. To be brutally honest I didn't like the most recent chapter one bit. It was all dialogue, which was hard to follow, and a large amount of this chapter was deddicated to (needlessly, in my opinion) to reference a different fic which I hadn't read. I mean, sure, great if you want to reference a fic subtly in a way that doesn't affect the story, but in my opinion, this was too far, as I felt that this fic was almost a sequel or something, and I had to have read the other first.
The conversation with Minerva (in my opinion) could have easily lasted a half of that time, as I felt it went around in circles, repeating itsself and yeah.
Bear in mind, I do mean these things in the most constructive and loveliest of possible ways, and all are just my opinion. I hope writing goes well for you.
I really like the way this story is developing. I think that the way you handled the Krum situation was the way I would've done it. This story is really good and I look forward to reading the upcoming chapters.
Ok, I think that I'm steadily liking this fic the more I read it. The only thing that I wish for is more response from Ginny and fleur. Other than that keep going.
I like this. I have to admit, I'm not a huge Ginny/Hermione fan. Ok, I'll be blunt, I hate them together. However, I think that the quality of your writing is very good. I like the way you set up the dilemma. Hermione seems like she's very in character. Overall I like it.
Where's the rest, where's the rest? I want to know what happens next!

I'm commenting on this chapter not because it's the last one (currently, anyway), but because it's the one I found the most interesting. For starters, McGonagall is probably my favorite professor of all, just because she reminds me so much of a teacher I had once. Here, though, I'm more reminded of one of my parents. Not because I have a parent that's like her, but because of the dialog. The sort of advice she gives to Hermione is just perfect: the sensible voice of reason that at once listens sympathetically and gives a firm push forward. I can't say how many times I've needed that in my life, so this was a chapter I could relate to on some levels. The fact that this happened is definitely a sign of a good job. Keeping that balance between strict and sensible, but also remaining accessible, is hard to do in real life; that makes depicting it well in a story, where everything depends on the writer's descriptions, is a challenge too.
The turmoil and confusion that Hermione had to be feeling - that anyone would have to feel in that kind of situation, really - came across very well in this chapter, too. The earlier parts, because they're shorter, give less of an opportunity to see how this is really tearing at her. (No pun intended.) That makes it a bit harder to tell the difference between her actions and those that you'd seen an a not-so-well-done angst piece. Though I absolutely wouldn't say that you made her seem melodramatic and completely unreasonable - like some characters in those stories can get - I do feel like this longer look into things improved the story as a whole.
Another thing I liked was the conversation about Hermione's future plans and goals. It really is an issue that hasn't been touched on much in canon HP, if memory serves...but why would physical or mental 'deficiencies' stop someone from being a fantastic witch or wizard? I agree that it's a noble goal to reach for, whether it's in fiction or within the real world. After all, there's no reason to treat others as lesser beings just because they're different in some way. On a similar note, I like seeing that Hermione's muggle background can be used as a strength, allowing her to do things others can't. Sometimes I think people forget about that potential aspect.
But see, I've gotten off the topic of your story! What it all comes down to is this: I enjoyed reading it, enough so that I'm going to check out the other two POVs sometime soon. If you're planning any additions to it in the future, please keep on working at them when you have the chance. I'd like to see how this all turns out - whether it's good or bad. (Which is relative anyway, isn't it?)
