WOW! This story is beyond amazing. I love how you're writing it from Barbra's POV. Her thouoghts seem very realistic. And the ending, where we see the evidence of Batman's emotions, is perfectly crafted and described. GREAT work.

Very sad but good.

The eerie words of Dick coming back to Barbara suggests that although they didn't always get along, Dick did understand his mentor/friend/surrogate Dad. Now, everytime I read a story where Batman is keeping his conflicting emotions well hidden from the view of others, I will think about Dick's words.That one line gives the reader Bruce's personality in a nutshell. Thank you for a great story. Although between this one and your other emotionally gripping story "Letting Go" I am going to have to invest in the Kleenex company!

In every version of the Batman ledgend I've ever known; Bruce Wayne was eight when his parents died. This was a publicly known fact.

Wow, it was like reading a real story

::smile:: Well, as much as I adore Babs stories, this was something of a doozy. I can't say I jumped up and down and shouted in joy. That'd be kinda sick, wouldn't it? I have to say though, I'm glad you did write this.

Barbara and Bruce... I've always wanted to see something that explored their relationship a little more. As complex and ultimately strained as ties are between Dick and Bruce, I've always wondered about Barbara and Bruce. Originally, I think, weren't Babs and *Bruce* supposed to be 'romantically' linked? Yes or no, there has been a connection between those two. It wasn't father/daughter; Barbara has Jim Gordon for that. It wasn't really romantic either though.

What I can appreciate through your story though, is their connection through Dick. They both love him, in their own way, and are scared s***less to let him know it. Somehow, I think that's a tighter bond then they know.

Reasoning on the score? Well, there are some problems with the grammar structure. I wouldn't normally care, but this is just noticable enough to impede the 'emotional tide' as it were.
