If he were trying to seem like he was brought up in a wizarding society, he probably should have at least pretended that he was scared of him. If he couldn't pretend to be scared, he might have passed with pretending to have never heard of Voldemort (since Voldemort's base of operations was in Europe, he could have been lesser-known in Japan). Um, I'm pretty nervous when it comes to original characters. Of course, I knew that minor characters would need to be introduced, as new students arrive at the school every year. I'm hoping that this character doesn't become vital to the plot, because (unfortunately) I've seen too many otherwise good stories go down the tubes that way. Other than those two points, this chapter seems okay. I look forward to the next one!

Hagrid got expelled, and he teaches a class; Lupin probably didn't go to college (what college would accept a werewolf?); Moody was trained as an Auror, not a teacher; and (the most glaring example) Firenze lived in the Forbidden Forest his entire life. I think Dumbledore can pick up any random guy off the street and make him a teacher. It's too early to tell, but I think this could become a good story. Update sometime, okay?
