The sad thing is that that does seem entirely reasonable for these crazy people. Still, overall amusing, though your description has a very tiny bit of Bait and Switch. You say in the summary that the monster, and I quote; 'started trying to eat the students...'. Because of this, I expected at least a momentary scene of absolute panic where the creature actually tries to eat someone, or maybe it successfully eats everyone and then explodes to reveal them all perfectly unharmed. Neither of those things happened. Now, I'm not saying that it needed to, or that I like the fic less because it didn't happen; in all honesty, those have both become overdone tropes at this point, and since you appeared to be forewarning of it, such an occurrence would have just made the story predictable, especially since you couldn't really hurt anybody too badly, because this was clearly marked as Humor. Now, in case I lost the point of that rambling sentence somewhere, the point was you didn't have to have the monster try and eat people, and it's good that you didn't. The fact remains though that your summary is basically lying, which, in summary's especially, is really something that I feel should be avoided as best can, and the fact that I had the expectation of at the very least attempted humanitarianism going into this did in fact make the fic less enjoyable because I was specifically waiting for the monster to start nom-ing and the proverbial ** to hit the also proverbial spinning cooling device (I can't believe I just said that). I was waiting for this scene (with bated breath, I might add) and so focused on wondering when it was gonna happen, that I was partially distracted from the rest of the fic itself, and really couldn't enjoy it as much as I would otherwise. In fact, all that I really caught the full force of was Ron's Bond One Liner at the end. Still, it was a fun read and it was funny. I really liked it.

It does seem the kind of thing that's almost normal at Hogwarts. It was so funny and I loved how sticking a wand up its nose was how you got rid of it and the description of the fight as all the Gryffs fought against the homework monster made me laugh.

Brilliance! I would have loved to see a longer fight, as Im a bit of an action addict. More spells, fiercer battles, some DA training, etc. It strikes me that it is emtirely possible for something like this to happen at hogwarts. In fact its more likely to happen in earlier years than later - thus maybe I cannot justify the want for more action. Hilarious as hell.
