I like how Eiri is analysing each event starting with their first meeting. I liked how you gave a reason for him being in the park in the first place... it adds a since of realism to that aspect of the plot which the anime lacks. I also enjoyed the cumulative observations he uses to build Shuichi in his mind before he actually meets him... that is typical for people like Eiri who seek new ways to discribe people for their own purposes. Continue as you are currently going and the fic will be just fine.

I totally agree for the meaning behind this work, some Yuki POV would be nice especially for the first few manga books (dont know about the animes). The whole smile thing though kind of does explain itself, in a way, only I'm no good describing things like that so I wont even try except know that somewhere in my mind it makes sense...but I'm glad your having a knack at it!

But is it just me, or have you noticed that great, well written and in-depth stories like this only get, what? 10 reviews? I saw a story about Shuichi listening to Slipknot and having Tohma be his errand boy have about 100 all gushing about 'what an incredible author they were!' And none of them were flames, at all. People are...so...stupid sometimes.
