I really, really like the little bolded parts. While they really should detract from the story and break the continuity, they don't. At all. Instead, they add to it. Very well done.

I like this fic lots! It's poetic and well-written, but is it an AU? Since obviously they didn't go to school together, Malik being stuck underground and all.
