Well, I'm responding to your ranting and reviewing, lol. I think this is really neat, and I can see that you really think through your characters and your writing in general. Very interestingly done.
I don't remember much about the sea in the movie, but then again I've never read the novel, and I don't remember all of the movie. C'est la vie, non? haha. (and no pun intended).
It's a bit stilted in places, but in others it breathes with (again no pun intended) a life of its own. Fascinating. Nice job!

This is great. Are you planning on leaving it as a oneshot? I would love to read more but at the same time it works wonderfully as a oneshot.
