Interesting ending. It seems they have an uneasy truce. I wonder how Kaoru will handle that. I do like how you had her surprise Battousai with her hug and deep emotion.
I do have a problem with one line in this chapter. That is "Suddenly the killer of legend, one who had slain countless men for no gain but to test his skills, was dumbfounded." Battousai did not kill so casually as to test his skills but on orders from his commanders on his theory that they would be able to identify those people preventing the revolution. Of course that was a simplistic and wrong-headed idea but he was never casual about it, in my opinion.
I hope you write more RuroKen. You write well and stay true to the characters.

I like the good build of eeriness in this chapter. The oil lamp playing on Kenshin's face was a very effective mood setter. I also like how that menacing image unsettled Kaoru.

I am enjoying your story so far and am especially happy to see it listed as complete. It seems lately I find a story only to have it never finished. It is also refreshing to have everyone as themselves not as vampires, werewolves etc.
I had to comment on the last line in this chapter. I assume you mean Kenshin acted as a nurse not a wet nurse as a wet-nurse is a women who breast feeds someone else's baby. Or are you saying that Kenshin has to mother her? The idea of Kenshin acting as a wet nurse just seemed so odd that I thought I’d let you know.
