Upon the SagePoint - Ebony and Shadow are both black, thus fitting together that way, and perhaps respond to their personalities. Ebony, a highly dense wood, used for instruments, furniture, and chess sets, could represent a character who is clueless, pleasant to listen to, functional, and deep. Because of its fine-grained beauty, the character could also be beautiful.

On the other hand, it could simply be a common name in Africa.

She could also be black. Or Cherokee, seeing as Sugartown was a Cherokee place.

Ebony is another word for black, and Sam has black hair, but its much more than that. Black is also a combination of all colors, and maybe you wanted Sam to represent all of the colors of her emotions. Just a random guess. Great story, loved the last line. anyway, l8tr.

Because the girl is supposed to be dark and mysterious. And Ebony is another word that means "Black". Accutaully I have a black cat that I named Ebony. Great Story!

Now THAT is effin cool...one of the best things I have read in a really, really long time. First of all, your screenplay premise rocks out loud, so make sure you keep that locked up tight, girl! Intellectual property is a hard thing to protect. But for the rest of my life, I know it's going to stay in the back of my head to remind me to look for it on the stage or screen. Second of all, you really nailed the chemistry between not only Ebony and Shadow, but of course Danny and Sam as well. My favorite part was the way he bent her back a little as he kissed her, because that is true to form and a great detail. Beautiful work. Always nice to find a gem in the warzone that is DP fiction.

I don't know why. All I know is that I want to read that sequel really really really soon, becasue this was a great one-shot and I enjoyed it a lot. ^_^

I like the story a lot and maybe you could have a little epilogue. anyway, i'm just guessing, but could the name Ebony have to do with show gothic type the character is and symbolize the darkness that she is trapped in before she met Shadow?
