So, you ever gonna tell us what that not-feather actually is? Cuz, dying here. Just a bit.

The story's amazing, just as the other two and I marvel at your ability to say everything without actually saying all that much - if anything at all. Few people can do that and fewer still so well. Seriously awesome.

Now, back to that feather thing...

I found the pacing a little slow on this one (could have been due to the fact that I was reading this way too late at night) and the ending was a little too existential ... heck, what do I know... cos I loved the story too.

Again the poignant, angst-ridden wonderful writing, just chock-full of delightful insight and twist of phrase and awesomeness!

Any more 'Open Door' stories planned?

Woot, another fine tale! Thanks! If I had any nitpicks, it would be the John chapter. I know why you did it. As an excuse for Tom. But still seemed out of place, especially with Sam, even as messed up as he was, not grilling Tom about their father. One possible suggestion (not that you have to take it, I mean this has been out for a long time!) would be to somehow tie Tom to possibly the vacant houses as in, the boys thinking about him back in an early chapter, then when he shows up later, it won't seem like something pulled out of a hat? Feel free to totally ignore me, however.

I Loved this story. I read the first part to this and loved it. It was different than anythign I've ever read but I understood it fully. The emotion was great, The fellings too. I especially loved the fluff at the end of this one! = )

Wow, that was an emotional roller coaster of a story. I was starting to get a little freaked out that Dean wasn't ging to be saved but Sammy pulled off a miracle in the end.
Amazing story or should I say stories...I just read all 3 in one sitting because I couldn't stop and needed to know how it all ended. Great work, keep writing!

"As above, so below" that is my most favorite quote, for some reason it just speaks to me and I find it quite fitting in this chapter. I usually save my comments for the ends of stories but when I read that last line I knew I had to reply. Awesome!

... I am breathless... your grasp of metaphor, of language is absolutely beautiful. Terrible and beautiful and completely engulfing. Each letter and each word creates layers that truely open doors in the mind... Awsome chapter!

OK, so I read the first in this series a while back, never realizing there were more. Then I found you again - thanks to Keeper's Post - and finished up the last two. They are so good! Whumpage, yet not. And it all sounds so real, so believable, you've got me worrying if my soul is fraying ;) Great job, hope to see more soon!

Catching up on your stories - which are wonderful! Just had to comment that I love this: "It was never duty or work or a requirement, to love Sam. Sam had never dragged him down or been a source of resentment when he'd needed to learn to tie his shoes or tell time or couldn't reach the easiest things. Sam was a gift, and when he'd finally caught up and kept up, the life they'd led became sheer freedom."

I wanted to let you know how much my sister and I have enjoyed your Month of Open Doors series. It is the only story I have been so captivated by on the internet that I needed to print it out, so it could be read aloud, savoured, recommended, shared and discussed. I have spent a fortune on books that I have not enjoyed as much as your story. The imagery transported us both. At times I could hear and see the characters emote words you gave them. You captured them so well.

P.S. We are hoping my nine month old nephew benefits from chewing up the dictionary he got his hands on, while his mother was immersed, and not just from the fibre content.

Read the whole series - loved it. Loved seeing Dean hanging out for Sam to see, loved Sam crying over Dean toward the end of this fic and Dean allowing himself to be hugged. Loved when Dean made confessions during the 2nd story in the series that he didn't realize he'd said out loud.

But, I think this is the part that sticks with me (or maybe is me), especially the first two sentences:

"When you tried hard enough and you were brave enough and you did everything you were supposed to, things were supposed to turn out right or at least better than they’d been. It didn’t matter that he knew better. Whatever and whoever he loved were just continually destroyed right in front of him and hope didn’t live forever when faced with so many lasts at an age where he should mostly be finding firsts."

Excuse me while I favourites list the entire Month of Open Doors series - I couldn't sit at my computer and read anything else until I'd gotten through it all.

I think you broke my heart with those last two chapters. So I'm gonna come back when I can actually say something useful, but for the moment, initial impression: wow.
I'm gonna go find my kleenex now and have a bout of crying cos somehow it feels so necessary and right to do so.

Wow - utterly speechless by the sheer beauty and incredible depth of your writing. What I especially love about your stories - particularly this one - is how you portray Sam. You give him such added strength and such a heartending element of pathos, yet he's still so perfectly in character. And of course, Dean is always wonderfully spot-on, just wonderful. Wasn't sure how you would end this, but you brought everything to such a satsifying and perfect conclusion that I'm truly in awe. Eagerly waiting for your next story!

OMG! Nice touch, I was wondering what happened to Tom! Excellent chapter, as always :) I'm feeling this starting to wrap up, which makes me sad, but maybe I'm wrong...

I really liked how Dean said Sam had called him, and suddenly the focus of our worry is back on Sam - he's the one who's attracting again.
