| Miss Nox 2006-07-08 ch 1, | abuseWow, that was a great story, I hope you do more... poor Albel. I really like the idea of Albel not referring to his father as a father, but Glou because he doesn't think he's worthy- and my faveourite mistake was- Glyphians never fall from Air Dragons, that was good. I really liked it when Sophia came, and the descriptions of all her emotions too!! |
| Statik 2006-07-04 ch 1, | abuseI really like this oneshot. I wish you would add more to it though. That would make for a very interesting story and I would love to read it. Anyways I thought it was wonderfully written. Two thumbs up. |
| Lucrecia LeVrai 2006-04-21 ch 1, | abuseI think he's called 'the wicked' for a different reason: he likes cutting - no, not himself - just other people. Meaning, I can't see Albel doing something as ridiculous as hurting himself in such manner, here's where the logic in this story fails. Every warrior knows you have to be healthy to perform well in battle; self-maiming isn't going to do you any good. Didn't Albel learn from his failed Accession? Back then, he was too weak because of the blood loss he suffered, so why would he repeat exactly the same mistake many years later, over and over? There are other ways to punish yourself, after all. Or is it his way of committing a very long suicide? By making himself unable to fight? I'm afraid this fic smells of teenage angst and pseudo-darkness a bit too much, but hey, that's just my opinion. I respect your interpretation of Albel, though I don't have to like it. :) As a plus for you, the story was quite well written and easy to read. I'm sure many people enjoyed/ will enjoy it. The atmosphere was downright depressing, always a good thing in this rating/ genre. I just prefer more plausible scenarios. :) |
| Blue Persuasion 2006-04-14 ch 1, | abuse1 - ...always stay with your group, regardless of how unpleasant it may be. Yeah, as 'anti-social' as he can be he is smart. 2 - ...never lose concentration on the field of battle. Well, duh...even I know that one. 3,4 - ...never lose track of an opponent... Never leave your unprotected side facing the enemy. See response to number 2 5 - ...never rely on backup assistance for a measly two opponents. Exactly what I would think him to think about only 2 opponents. 6 - ...a Glyphian never falls from an air dragon, never. But he did once. I guess he'll never stop beating himself up over that. 7 - ...never lose bodily function while your enemy still breathes. That's a demanding one, but he's that way so yeah I can see that. 8 - ...never let someone else steal your kill. Hehehe...yeah! Now if he could only take his own advice... 9,10 - ...never scream in pain... Never… Ever… Cry… That one's got to be even more demanding than 7 11 - ...never lose… Your… Weapon… He's so stubborn even when it comes to things that are out of his control. It would seem he hides more then just his past a secret. The sad thing is, there's a lot of people who have their dark secrets and this really touched on a very human trait. In one way or the other, we all inflict pain on ourselves. Though some not as violent but he has so much he holds inside he may feel the need for the release. If you decided to extend it, you may want to keep this secret between Albel and Sophia - if anyone else then only one other member (don't know who). It just seems like not too many should know - but that's just me. If everyone finds out then it'll be them trying to keep their mouths shut and acting differently around him. I'm just going on with this review huh? Either way, great job! |
| keeki 2006-04-06 ch 1, | abuseI love this story! And yes you need to continue, or else I will poke you to death. *poke* *poke* *poke* Get it? And I agree totally with your thoughts on Albel and his father, how he never thinks he can live in his shadow, so true. Poor Albel, but it was good it was Sophia who was the one who found him. Ah Alphia, it's like they were made for one another. It gives me warm fuzzies, okay that was a very girly thing to say but I'm a chick, I can get away with it ;) I really like your portrayal of Albel very IC. |
| The Fetid Conceited 2006-04-06 ch 1, | abuseWow... I am truly flattered. And I am also sincerely sorry about my fic; I didn't want to write a romance, but that seemed to be my only option to get helpful reviews. And they still weren't helpful. About your story... (I have to mention, once again, that I am flattered that you were so inspired by the se;f-conditioning concept) it was fairly well-written, save for a few mistakes here and there. They're mostly grammatical errors, some that are easily overlooked and quite petty. "Albel was too lost in depressive though to notice..." 'depressive' is in the wrong verb tense. No big deal, probably a fast typo mistake. Also, I have to note that when Albel was cutting himself in te sink, the repitition for effect was absolutely beautiful. However, you stopped mentioning the target word 'slice' after mistake six. Was it to be inferred from now on. I, personally, think it lost a little effect in there. I must stress the repitition once again though. Magnificent. The last is the pettiest of them all, and only a morbid SO3 player would know this: blueberries restore health, not blackberries. But once again, it's petty. All in all, I'm glad I got to read this. It was definitely a treat, if I do say so myself. I'm also glad you enjoyed my story (though it crapped out when I tried to seduce readers into reviewing it... bad mistake). Take care, and good fic. -TFC |
| Dragon Chyld 2006-04-06 ch 1, | abuseThree stories? What's the third one? Well, get to work man!! LOL Whoa, I never would have thought of Albel doing something like that but then again we all have our own habits that we don't let others see. One of the first things I picked up on was how he referred to his father - and I started to think about it before reading your A/N at the end and I was thinking the same. His reasons for seeing himself as weak really fit him. For a one-shot, you did end it abruptly...It's up to you if you want to continue or not but it would be nice to see what happens next. |
