It all makes sense in a non-sensical sort of way :P And I can answer for Rachel, yes, you did ruin the story :P Not becuase it was bad ( it rocked) but becuase such a slaahy/horrendous display cannot be repeated and you kinda concluded it which leaves her nowhere to carry the story on.
