I would fear something like this, too.

He always picks duty over love, even though he's supposed to be part of a love that's just unspeakably beautiful. He needs his shakti... and if she is *his* beauty goddess, then she must feel the same overwhelming loss. How could fate be so cruel?

So... I would hope that surely they live so long, so, maybe there is ample time to try and make things work? And if not, I guess it would be only upon death... :(

BUT I believe, that someday they will be together.

They live almost eternally, so they will stay young and spend the rest of their lifetime together.
