I read "Romeo's Ex: Rosaline's Story" by Lisa Fielder where Rosaline and Benvolio are paired together and I loved it. I'd never thought of the pairing but they fit together really well. I loved you ficlet! It was very well written and romantic : )

you know, when i first read romeo & juliet i thought it was sweet and increadibly romantic...but then i came across a book called "Romeo's EX" it was from Rosaline, benvolio, mercucio, romeo, and juliets point of view...mostly rosaline and benvolio's though. i absoluely LOVED it...it goes along the lines of your story, and i must say i am impressed! the couple is unique and, in my opinion, much better then romeo and juliet!

Awesome. You're right, there is something suspicious about how Benvolio is just a little too fast to diss Romeo's infatuation with Rosaline. Besides, it's nice to think that one pair of star-crossed lovers helped another pair.

I absolutly LOVE Benvolio! He is the perfect man! It's so cool how a lot of people like this couple, I mean I know of two book were they actually make them a couple(or try to in After Juliet). I really liked this.

Rosaline and Benvolio are never mentioned or even hinted in the play, but it is strange for Benvolio to so eagerly try turn Romeo away from the "mysterious" Rosaline, so I guess We'll never know!

That was am amazing story, I would never have come up with an idea like that one. Wow, I'm still so amazed by the little spell check that they added atop the review window. I liked the casual style of it, I would have done the same if I wrote a shakespeare fic, for fear of writing it incorrectly, as you said you were afraid to do. BUt, in all honesty it really was a joy to read.

Definitely an interesting premise. One that I thought was well executed; my only criticism would be the large jumps between scenes.

On the whole, though, a sweet subplot. I enjoyed it.

This is incredibly sweet. Naturally I agree with your sentiments about Romeo's ficklness etc. as we've heard before. This coupling is truly ingeniuos, but coming from you that's what I would expect. The bit about deaths claim being in withering bodies and aged minds really touched me, because no matter how foolish no one should die that young, great love story or no.
