It’s as if things change as Kaoru sees just Kenshin’s back and wonders at the brush against her chin. It seems there is a wistful sadness there at the barrier the pink presents as she watches him turn. I liked that shift brought forward by the last line.

Beautiful, meaningful and refreshing, albeit the underlying sadness. Good job done, you got me (A Sanosuke/Megumi author) captivated with the beauty of KK's relationship!
