I loved the way it was realistic (well to the game's standard anyway) How Rikku does end up moving on eventually... Because I find it rather saddening and annoying you could say, how People pair Rikku up with Auron and then Auron gets sent... Then Rikku refuses to love anyone else for the rest of her life... and she's what? only 15/16? And rikku dreams of having lots of kids... in which she can't with a dead guy that has been sent... {hey! but that doesn't mean she can't still love Auron, she just has to move on and love someone else...} I got a little off track there.. oops! anywho! I also liked the fact that Her child died.. no I'm not cruel! It just also realistic - Since Auron was an unsent when Rikku and he obviously made love... it kinda impossible for a child to be half alive and half unsent so it was only umm realistic that the child didn't make it! btw... what's with the words in brackets? is it a song? if so... who sang it?

I totally agree with you about Auron not doing anything with Rikku beyond a kiss - but I admit that I adore the idea of them having a son together :) Your take on it, with the baby not being able to survive was very interesting, though. And very sad - loved Rikku's last words to Auron. So poignant! Great fic :)

rr1963 2006-04-19 ch 1,	abuseI don't particularly _like_ sad stories (and the aurikku, um, genre, certainly has a bunch) but this was a well written, effective story that tugged at the heartstrings. You drew a really believable Rikku about as well as you can in a one-shot. Nice going.
Bacon 2006-04-19 ch 1, anon.	abuseOk, I already left you a comment on LJ, but I wanted to point out some specific things I LOVED. “We had a son,” she said, finally, without opening her eyes. “I named him after you… I guess I shouldn’t have done that…” She squeezed her eyes together tightly and brought her fists up to rub them, coming away wet. “He didn’t live very long. I guess, he just wasn’t… real enough.” Her green eyes opened. “He faded, a bit different than you, though, I guess…” she chuckled dryly. “I never even knew if he liked cake…” Yes. This was where I cried. Honestly cried. And I DO NOT cry. Ever. The cake thing just pushed me over the edge.

I can't imagine Auron doing anything more than kiss Rikku, but despite that, I really enjoyed your story. Your imagery is awesome. You convey Rikku's deep sorrow very well and you don't go for one of those false happy endings, though those are great too. :D I really love the part where you have Auron say "Open your eyes." It's a great way of ending things the way they began. Good job. :)
