| Lyn 2006-04-21 ch 1, anon. | abuseInteresting and definitely original! Just a bit of trivia...potatoes grow only in the New World. They were brought over the England some time around 1680 (by Francis Drake, I think-don't quote me!) As for Sam calling them "taters" I thought only hillbillies in America used that word! (Yes, I know the movie saw fit to provide many anachronisms). |
| lindahoyland 2006-04-20 ch 1, | abuseThis was just delightful.I feel Tolkien could easily have written it.Faramir now has Aragorn to look up,hopefully Sam can bring some taters when he returns to GOndor, but poor Frodo's dreams will not come true. |
| Raksha The Demon 2006-04-20 ch 1, | abuseYou fill in very well for JRRT, who should have written this scene. Nice parallels between Frodo and Faramir. Both are reluctant heroes, or at least people who achieved heroism not because they sought glory, but because their endeavors were necessary. I love the idea of Sam introducing 'taters' to Ithilien! |
| cookiefleck 2006-04-20 ch 1, | abuseVery nice. I like the interaction between these 3 characters. Please consider adding to it... continuing the conversation... |
| Deandra 2006-04-20 ch 1, | abuseOh so lovely, and I could see each of the characters during this little vignette. Well done! - Deandra |
| Nienor Niniel 2006-04-20 ch 1, | abuseOh, I like this little missing scene! You capture the character's voices beautifully, and there is much wisdom in what they say. I especially like this line: Time doesn’t devour stories, Frodo, it only adds to them. I think we will be remembered, though whether what is remembered will be the truth, I do not know. Very well done! Nienor |
