I found your story the other day and I was plesantly impressed. Even though I am not a big fan of the toad, your characterization is dead on (I especially enjoy your side story of pietro...poor poor pietro...I think he needs therapy moreso than anyone else in his family at this point)...I look forward to where you are going with this story

WHY IS EVERYONE SO MEANT TO MORT?! I mean SERIOUSLY, none of these people even KNOW the guy, they're just like 'ooh, he's a bad egg cos he kills things' but look at WOLVERINE, for flips sake! He's killed more people than Mort by a LONG SHOT and LOOK, he gets a shiny little COSTUME and e-e-everybody likes him! And Mystique and Magneto get little 'get out of jail free-switch-sides-and-personality-passes', but does Mort? NO! WHY? Because he's GREEN, that's why! It's not FAIR!! NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!! (throws tantrum)

What about Badminton? I bet Scott would wear those white creased shorts with a belt up to his stomach and a tan shirt, tucked in. And socks pulled all the way up. And dark shoes. Heh. And Magneto would always hit the birdie JUST over Xavier's reach, and he'd be like 'oops! sorry, there, shorty mcbald!' and Xavier would eventually be like "THAT'S ENOUGH!! MY PATIENCE HAS RUN OUT...! YOU HAVE INCURED MY WRATH!" and then the birdie would dink against his forehead.

...but now you have me thinking of Xavier, Pietro, Magneto and Strange playing water polo. I don't know why. And I have the sinking suspicion that Xavier will be wearing a speedo...

Excellent. Absolutely excellent! I know Mort is a little squeamie about having children now (probably because the only memories he has of children are of them tormenting him in the orphanage) but he'd make such a good father. All caring and protective and majorly obsessoidish! SQUEE!

And then there's the whole thing with the 'what will they look like' which I'm sure he's ALSO gonna freak out about, and be like 'holy crap I hope they're not green...!' But they'll make such good parents! Oh I'm excited! And the kid will be like LOOK AT ME! I have webbed toes and can destroy the world, WITH MY BRAIN!

Strange and Magneto and Pietro and Xavier can go play chicken on the railroad tracks, I don't care. This is gonna ROCK!

P.S. Hey, maybe I'm over reacting. Maybe Pietro can practice not being a major loser! And realize that at least Wanda married for LURVE, unlike SOMEBODY I know...Why does everyone hate ickle mortikins? (sigh)

Was the Spider-Man thing a foreshadowing? If it is, horray! I always wanted to see Peter and Mort duking it out. Their powers are similar in many ways...but not their training. Mort would kick some serious arachnid booty. And it would be fun, because Mort would be like 'I'm just trying to get some milk from the store, jeez' and Spiderman would be like 'no! A more diabolical plan must be afoot!' 'What would I be planning to do with milk?' '...Spread lactose intollerance to the unknowing citizens of this good city, you froggy fiend!" "..."

Whoo! You scared me for a minute there. I was like oh crap oh crap, she's gonna say no and then there's gonna be a murderous rampage and BADNESS!!

Poor, misguided Pietro. Toad IS affluent. Or could be. Mechanics genius, doi. Stupid Pietro. And he's definately strong. He squishes people and eats pigeons. And he's gentle...when he wants to be. I mean, one moment he's like KILL! KILL! BWUAHA! And the next he's all shy and 'do you want breakfast?'...but, nobody's perfect.

I actually find it endearing. Poor, crazy Mort.

Anyway. A lovely chappie, over all. I demand more immediately.

Stupid telepaths! Think they're so great. If this was JEAN we were talking about, everyone would be like no save her, save her! Except for maybe Emma, she'd be on the kill wagon, because she's a self-centered, bitter slutbag.

Wanda could turn them all in to flies if she wanted. I think they should start being nice, or they'll be in trouble very, very quickly...

This is the first fic in a long while that's gotten me riled up enough to rant! I await more. Quickly, PLEASE!

Stupid friggafraggen Xavier. Stupid weasel faced Strange. I say we smack them both with herrings, stick Wanda and Mort in a nice cottage with a picket fence...and a puppy...and then they can have adorable little freaky children!

Two...weeks? Gargh! If I don't pull out all my hair by then, it will be considered an accomplishment. This is the best Tonda I've read, by far. It's realistic on both fronts. And both a little crazy. But that's why we love 'em, right? Keep up the good work! (Or else.)

Not a pairing I see very often in fic, but it seems to make sense. You make me want to root for this crazy couple. :)

This was an excellent chapter! You truely are a wordsmith! You capture both Wanda and Mort perfectly. I love how each of them seem to dance around one another with uncertainty, afraid of what the other might think, not realizing that they don't need to.
