HogwartsHussy 2008-09-29 . chapter 1Gorgeous imagery. Your understanding of Andromeda's character here feels so right. Even if you sever ties with your family, they are still a part of your upbringing. |
Rhys 2008-02-25 . chapter 1Oh, that's lovely, I'm so glad I didn't read this before because I could discover it now and be thrilled! The segment "November the 2nd" is the most fantastic way of saying SO much more than words can convey, and in so few words, too. The whole story is like that; it's amazing how you can do that. This is like a series of snapshots itself, the most lovely emotional snapshots anyone could take of a life. I'm so amazingly envious and awed. Absolutely fantastic, Noldo!
(And my stars, how could Bowdler do that--would there still be enough left to make a play out of? Hah!) |
Duchess Winna 2007-09-14 . chapter 1I love your portrayal of Andromeda - it's completely realistic and a lot like how I imagine her. She's really a very interesting character and you do her justice here. I love how through these snapshots we have a clear view into Andromeda's character and her decisions in life.
Beautiful imagery and descriptions as well; your wording is absolutely phenomenal. Sometimes its almost poetic; your prose is really, really lovely and is really wonderful to read.
All-around incredible job. |
Prieda Solo 2007-02-21 . chapter 1First time i've cried reading fanfiction.
You have such a good grasp of sirius's character. You write him amazingly well and I especially love the little insights into why he does what he does.
''because outside, in the world, there is one war, and inside she is fighting her own'' Wow. Yes. You could say this i guess about so many people. but andromeda especially, because she's fighting so many demons in her own way. |
 paperchain 2007-02-10 . chapter 1:)
Oh... tragic and very lovely. I love the idea of photographs, and the way you seem to have arranged these snippets as snapshots of Andromeda's life to reflect this. The way the past haunts her is terrifying and vivid. Thank you for this ;
*Happily adds to favourites* |
Molly 2006-08-24 . chapter 1 That was beautiful, almost like poetry. In fact, I think it was poetry, intended or not. I love it and the style of writing you chose to use for it. |
phantasmagorienne 2006-07-19 . chapter 1I am still madly in love with this story; I think it is one of my favourites that you've written (so far). The imagery is just stunning, and there's something very sweet and simple about it amidst the tragedy. Of course, I'm always fascinated by the Black sisters arc, but this is one of the best ways I've seen it treated.
Also, you win at life for introducing me to 'Bowdlerise'. *nods* |
Londonmage 2006-07-12 . chapter 1Oh goodness. Another marvelous gem I never reviewed. Bad me.
But good you. Wait...make that FANTASTIC on you.
As another before said: The best Andromeda fic I've ever read. Genius. |
Lirazel 2006-06-16 . chapter 1Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful prose and terrible truth. This is the best Andromeda fic that I've ever read. Thank you for it. |
Evenstar Elanor 2006-04-30 . chapter 1"There have been other letters since these, threats and coercions and warnings, and she has flung them into the fire, but these are filled with childish hopes and girlish dreams, and a little bit of laughter; these are sacred things, and they remain, tucked gently into the books where Ted will never find them."
It makes her seem so human, but even more so Narcissa and Bella. They were once just girls with dreams and I can just picture them having "girl talk", if you know what I mean.
I love the ending. The imagery is exquisite and the loving family atmosphere brought to life. Word choice is perfect. I love how instead of "Takes a picture", you say "frames the evening".
Great job. |
bredalot 2006-04-30 . chapter 1I love it. I've developed this strange obsession with Andromeda, and I love yours. |
ms metaphor 2006-04-27 . chapter 1Beautiful and haunting, as always. Andromeda is an interesting character, and I like your take on her. She lives with such a strong sense of loss and memory...
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. |
Estelle Tiniwiel 2006-04-26 . chapter 1I like this. Lovely language - the images that your words create are very detailed and carry a lot of emotion. I liked the slight lift in feeling at the end: it made the melancholy more easy to bear. |
