moon71 2006-06-11 . chapter 6A lovely ending! Alexander's attempt to drink himself to death seems a rather sad practise run for the future. I felt so sorry for Stefanos, being turned into a nursemaid for the disobedient king and I loved the idea of Alexander going off to a "wine tasting" in order to get drunk again! So Hephaestion gets his memory back when he sees Alexander - it really comes across in your stories that they are almost physically linked, that they feel each other's pain and that they can't long survive without one another! And now it's on to the sequel!! |
moon71 2006-06-11 . chapter 5Wonderful! Poor Alexander, coping disasterously with the loss of Hephaestion! The image of the sorrowful bones is excellent, by turns funny, sad and sinister as they finally reproach him for leading Hephaestion into danger. And I like the twist of his burning Persepolis for vengeance - it does seem to me that if it wasn't a complete accident, it must have been an act of drunken vanadalism and a horrible waste. |
moon71 2006-06-01 . chapter 4Another excellent chapter (see, I'm trying to catch up!) I particularly love the way you describe the love scenes, filling them with sensuality and magic and a sense of fun. ”Now my dear it is time for me to have my will with you! ” That is just wonderful! Well I'll be honest, I didn't think Hephaestion was dead, but his escape was clever and exciting. So he has no memory... except of course of the Golden One. Now what? |
moon71 2006-05-28 . chapter 3Here I am at last! What a wonderful, dramatic chapter! I love the magic touch in the destruction of the stone fortress; Carduzes' face must have been a picture. And of course poor Alexander is on a downward spiral as he tries (and fails!) to deal with the loss of Hephaestion (but doesn't forget to order the wine - brilliant!) On to the next chapter! |
Fredericka 2006-05-19 . chapter 6Another thrilling epic adventure comes to an end, a happy one! The envious mischief makers foiled once more and our lovers reunited. And, to the delight of everyone, the saga will be continued! Your stories are awesome in the true sense of the word. Looking forward to many more. Fredericka |
Atsu Tenshi 2006-05-18 . chapter 6Oh, all go well and end with a happy ending. And I'm sharing the same joy too! ^_^
Poor Stefanos to feel guilty like that but Heph did a great job cheering him up. Beside, it was not really his fault. At least he felt guilty of what he cannot do.
And I like on how possessive Hepheastion can be when he saw Stefanos with Ale's head on his lap. That jealousy! Wow! Now people have to beware of that.
Especially when he said, "Away with you! Alexander is mine...mine forever!"
*_* How pure and strong his love is... ::grins::
About Crateros, Cassander, and Eumenes...shame on them! Their ill-wicked heart shall never affect the wonderful relationship between Alexander and Hephaestion. Aw...so this story has come to end. ::sniffs::
There is another one? Persian Gate Revisited? |
CoralDawn 2006-05-15 . chapter 6Ah... they are finally reunited and it's as if Alexander gets a second chance from the gods. He will not be so lucky later on his second visit to Ecbatana. Very nice, adventurous story! |
queen-isabell 2006-05-13 . chapter 5Poor Alexander, he's suffering so much. Reunite them soon! This is a really dramatic and fast paced story, please continue writing! |
CoralDawn 2006-05-10 . chapter 5Alexander has fallen apart without Hephaistion. First the clinging to the bones (refusing to give him his rites). Then, during the Funeral Feast, he extracts his revenge by burning the palace at Persepolis - while he is stone-cold sober. Very interesting alternative view on why he burnt this great and famed work of art. Looking forward to the reunion now with his One True Friend ... |
Atsu Tenshi 2006-05-10 . chapter 5"...but I will give all my treasury and victories away could I but have you back at my side again."
And that wish shall be granted to him sooner.
Very unexpected cos I wouldn't think the Persian itself would be the Funeral Pyre. Poor Alexander, drowned into his sorrow and shall never be the same again. But Hephaestion shall come back to him! Sooner or later! And here...I'm looking forward to that! Continue soon! ^_^ |
CoralDawn 2006-05-07 . chapter 4Ahh... so Hephaistion is alive. Thanks to Zeus, again, who sent his thunder to kill the ravens. The description of the three ravens, the old one's death by Hephaistion biting off her neck, was great! :D Gruesome and delightful, all at once! Hephaistion has found a friendly nurse (who is obviously smitten with him - and who wouldn't be!) but lost his memory. Yet deep underneath, the memories are there, wanting to break free, and go back to his Golden One. Otherwise there's always the danger of his Golden One succumbing to drink and not surviving.
"His dear Golden One would never manage on his own, without his strong and tender support."
It's really nice how this is an underlying theme in your stories - that the shadowy power behind Alexander was Hephaistion. |
Atsu Tenshi 2006-05-07 . chapter 4Delirium would lead to something and that had what put Hephaestion in the state.
But now he's feeling better again, he should be leaving and find Alexander. I bet Alexander is still in a madness state (oh, poor lad). And his condition is bad although he won Persia's land. Without Hephaestion, Alexander is incomplete. Anyway, it would be a scene to see when they saw a dead person walking on the Earth ground since they already believed that Hephaestion died.
Great job! Now I'm off reading Hazards~ can't wait!
Continue soon! XD ::glomps:: |
Atsu Tenshi 2006-05-07 . chapter 3Very awesome descriptions from the fight between Ale and that horrendous giant. Serve him right to die like that.
Pity Ale and Stefanos, they never knew the truth what befall Hephaestion.
The madness of losing someone is very undescriable. Alexander's sorrow must be beyond that.
I'm off to read the next chap! Sque~ ^-^ |
CoralDawn 2006-05-03 . chapter 3Poor Alexander has to make a terrible choice - going after Hephaistion or winning the battle. Afterwards, it's nice the way the gods themselves help him to win victory over Carduzes. So many time Alexander was supremely lucky in real life; it did seem he was always in the gods' favors. I like the way you have incorporated that idea in this story.
Okay, so now Carduzes dies but takes sweet revenge by saying that Hephaistion is dead and his rites have been performed according to Persian custom. What will Alexander do? How will he live without his True, Steadfast One? |
Fredericka 2006-05-03 . chapter 3Once again, you skillfully combine mythology with history to create an epic adventure. I loved Zeus teaming up with Bucephalus to save Alexander’s life. So sad for him to realize that he was too late to save his friend. Did Carduzes perhaps lie about the bones being Hephaestion’s? I am eagerly looking forward to the next chapter. |
