I also had the idea that Harry might be the last horcrux and that he could die himself if he kills Voldemort.

I did´t like Dumbledores death in Book 6, so I´m glad that you´re acknowleding it in this fic only.

I think you had a great insight into Hermione's and Ron's thoughts regarding their parents and honesty, and your description of Harry's changes was very well-done. I think you've just captured the moment he stops being a child to become a man perfectly.
Just one little thing: if they're at the Welcome Feast, Harry should be seventeen, not sixteen.

I liked this piece. My favorite part is how you document Harry's journey through Hogwarts so simply, with him coming to the conclusion that it was all "for the best", and tying it in with the impending war and his possiblt demise. I would love to see a companion piece, or a sequel, after the 7th book, talking about how Harry was better off not knowing ahead of time what awaited him - especially if Harry dies. I think it would be funny, in that sad, depressing sort of way, but also a good closure for him as well.
