I thought Redtail died in the first battle...? When they retreated, Tigerclaw got.. ah... A tad bit upset/ jealous, so he killed Redtail, I thought. but if your right... well it'd make sense.
Whitestorm and Lionheart, naturally, would gaurd the camp. Whitestorm and Lionheart were'nt out on the Hunting patrol because they were waiting for Rusty, Correct? Plus, looking back, Bluestar told Spottedleaf "We are lucky not to have lost any warriors this time."
But, on the patrol, honestly? What are the odds of two warriors and one hidden apprentice winning against 5 Fully trained, battle-hardened Riverclan warriors with no serious told injuries exept for a shoulder wound?
Aside from the minor details you have to have practice to pick up, this is really good! (And to the person who reviewed Redtail has green eyes, his eye color is never mentioned in the book)

Poor Redtail. He was seriously underwritten- he gets about 2 lines in the first book's prologue, then says 2 more lines at Firestar's leader ceremony, and that's it. I'm glad to see he has some fics out there. Nice job!

Very good, except for the fact that Dustpaw and Sandpaw aren't brother and sister; remember that Dustpaw was jealous of Firepaw in Forest of Secrets?

Good story. However, I never really imagined Oakheart that arrogant. Otherwise it was really good. :)
