Gah! I just composed a rather long review that FFN just swallowed up and lost. I'm super-annoyed -- I should always know to Ctrl-C a long review before hitting "Submit." Because now I don't remember enough what I said to re-type it without having to compose it all over again, which I don't really have time to do. *sigh* Sorry.

Anyway, the shorter version is that I have read this before and most likely reviewed it elsewhere (I hope!), but when I came across it here, I thought it was worth a re-review, because it's one of those fanfics that stay in my mind and influence the way I perceive the characters. I loved your realistic take on what would happen upon their return. And this time around, I was noting how the careers you chose for them do seem perfectly suited to them; plus the reactions of the imagined wedding guests brought such a big smile to my face.

Once again, great story!

I have only seen about twenty minutes of "An Unearthly Child" but my god, this is absolutely fabulous. It's sad, it's sweet, it's poignant, it's is just wonderful

Very well written and poignant. I'm more familiar with the third through sixth Docotrs, but I have seen at least a little of the first. I've always thought it must be a total culture shock to end a tenure as a companion (under any circumstances); I mean, after traveling the multiverse with a Time Lord, what do you do for an encore? This answers the question nicely, I think; well done. Just one question: is this a one-shot or do you plan on following up in some way? You know what I'd like to hear...
