Man! I just stumbled onto this fic two days ago and spent every spare moment reading it. Not easy to do, mind you. I just wanted to say that you've done a great job with this fic and I wish that you would continue with it. Honestly, at first, I almost didn't read it because I found the hyphens a bit confusing. But I decided to give the first chapter a try and I'm glad I did! It took a bit getting used to, but eh, whatever. You've managed to paint a picture in my mind of the scenes that you write. Your writing is so on target. I feel like I'm actually watching an episode. I was heartbroken to see that this is unfinished and I've been searching your other sites to see if you had posted additional chapters there. Please finish this!

a contract's still a contract even if it's oral. as long as there is consideration and an offer and acceptance and maybe a few other things. it's untrue that an oral contract is worth the paper it's written on. but i'd want it in writing, too.

I still love it, love the development of William, of the relationship of LL and of Rory and Jess. I do love Rory and Jess! They're perfect for each other (yes, i remember what you told me).
I know you're taking a break from this, but i hope you haven't given it up. Maybe your new study will inspire you again?

This is a really good story. I think it's funny how shocked Lorelai was but I don't blame her. And her freaking out about putting Luke and sex in the same sentence was really funny. But great job.

are you going to continue? i really love the story and want to know whats going to happen.

Still loving the story and Luke and Lorelai's relationship is just so ...right, the way you write it. I'm in the midst of writing my own GG but it's nowhere near as good as this one! I'm a bit out of my element as I tend to be best at writing pure drama so I'm trying. Which is why I had to find a wonderful GM story like yours to make me realize that eventhough my own story is a bit ooc I can hint to them that they can read your story if bored hehe

Okay as for the story, I just knew that you would make her pregnant and I love that. Little bommed out neither of them really remember if their rendezvous was any good hehe.

love that Jess is so far still in the picture I remember hating him once, but after the last season of GG I kindda got to aprreciate him al ot more. Anyway I always liked him a lot more than Logan, who for some reason I just never took to.
Maybe because blond guys with blue eyes are a dime a dusin in denmark? lol.

Well, I'll hurry to read all the other chapters and sorry that I won't review until the end, as you can probably judge from this chapter I totally ramble on in true Lorelai fashion if I'm not stopped, so...

Been a few chapters since I reviewed, but here are my thoughts on what I remember.

I loved the "perfect imperfection" description of Lorelai. Most other fanfics depict her as the perfect being in the eyes of Luke. And I have to admit, I fall for that view of her sometimes myself. But the way you frame her makes so much more sense for her character, and the way Luke sees her. She's like controlled chaos.

Loved the painting chapters, especially the camera bit. I was seriously picturing Lorelai stuck under the ladder, and was mentally telling Luke to get the camera. Then the very next line I read is Luke saying he's going for the camera. Awesome stuff.

I've always liked the character of Rachel, but I never once liked Max. I don't know why a whole chapter was given to their situation, but I'm assuming it's for a reason. And I'll hold off judgment until that plays itself out.

On Richard/Emily. I think Richard is a bit too accommodating of Lorelai than he is on the show, but it's understandable since Emily was gone. We never saw what he went through when she left. Richard was always lenient when it came to Rory and Lorelai in every area except their love lives. So I think it'll take more for him to warm up to Luke than dinner and the question of love. And that was typical Emily. Her leaving for weeks (months?) and returning thinking nothing is changed and she is still in control of everything. While it's sad she had to get a bit of a slap in the face for her to realize that's not the case, I think she deserves a reality check.

Last chapter was fun. I loved the comparison of Jess vs Rory's packing style. (I'm the same way as Jess.) The goodbye was heartfelt, although I was wondering where Jess was during it. It felt weird not having Luke say goodbye to him, or Lorelai either for that matter. (I'm guessing Lorelai and Jess's relationship has improved, but we haven't really seen much regarding it. Aside from the usual complaints, the one thing I wanted to see on the show that never happened was a Lorelai/Jess reconciliation.)

That was a long review, but I guess it's okay since I hit like 5+ chapters in it. Still a great story overall.

- You know better than I that once your mom has her heart set on something, there's nothing we can do about it, he pointed out, as he on signal from Lorelai packed an extra change of clothes and diapers into William's baby bag. - Plus, which one is she more likely to listen to out of the two of us?"

For some reason these lines just stood out from everything else in the chapter. I know it's simple, and it probably wasn't your intention to make this line such a big deal. But to me, it just spoke volumes of how much Rory thinks of Luke. And how much she believes in his relationship with her mother. That he would have so much sway with her. And then Luke comes back with a simple reply, effectively saying she's giving him too much credit while complimenting Rory on her relationship with her mother at the same time. That's just completely Luke. It's so simple the way it's done, but it just has so much impact. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's how I felt when I read it.

Your story is weird for me to review. First off, let me just say that I really enjoy your story. I've read what, 115 chapters in two days? If that doesn't tell you that I like it, then I don't know what will. You have excellent dialogue, though the format you use took a while to get used to. Characterization is spot on. And the story just seems to flow naturally from one point to another. On the other hand, I feel that the story has been sort of treading water some. Not that nothing has happened, but the story is very decompressed. But I think that ties into my main problem with the story: the use of continuity.

Continuity is a double edged sword. On one hand, it gives you a great deal of structure and backbone for the story. On the other, it can be extremely limiting on the amount of story you are able to tell. Knowing the premise, and the fact that you are sticking to the basic structure of the show, I could easily predict how everything was going to go. Honestly, after reading so much, I can probably name 5 things that actually surprised me. (The Jess/Lorelai confrontation being the most memorable.) And in a story that's 100+ chapters long, I'm not sure if that's such a good thing. But I kept reading, hoping that something would happen with Luke and Lorelai before one of the major events of the show occurred, and that maybe you'll diverge into a more open type of story. Which leads me to the main reason why I'm reviewing. Just wondering if you have in later chapters, or plan to, split from the continuity of the show and tell your own story.

As of right now, I'll continue reading your story, but most likely not at the rate I have been. It's a great story, and I don't regret reading it. I'd just like to see what you would be able to do without having the show hold you back, so to speak. (I will say that I like your story as sort of a substitute for Season 5. Season 5 was good, but I just can't watch it anymore because I know that nothing gets better on the show. The story arcs were good, but it just never made it to the point the show should have been. And that kills any interest I have in watching it, knowing that this is at good as it gets.)

Pure gold. That's what your story is. I'm immensely glad you included Stars Hollow's most colorful citizen in this chapter. I'd love to see Luke's face when he finds out Kirk wanted to be responsible for the welfare of his precious baby boy. Am I sensing a rant?

Question: Where are we in the Gilmore-verse? Mid-season five?

Anxiously awaiting the next chapter. I miss William during these waiting-periods ;)

Wow, I finally had some time to read the last three chapters. The kids had me moving all summer long, and I haven't had a lot of time for reading. I can't believe they turned up a perfectly romantic night without William and opted for sleep. Is their relationship getting a bit stale already? The Rory at Yale chapter was different. I'm wondering what's up with Cate. The Kirk chapter was amuzing though. I hope the plumber comes soon.
