I think this was one of the first Royai fics I've ever read, so I'm pretty sure it's at least partially responsible for the crazy obsession with these two I developed shortly afterwards. :) Really, this fic is amazing - the last few lines gave me goosebumps! Lovelovelove.

Aw, this is so lovely! I adore the chess metaphor when it comes to Roy and Riza. Always there to support and defend each other and make sacrifices for each other. Roy is very interesting when he's introspective. You wrote a great piece here.

And I wonder what Riza would think of Roy carrying the queen around in his pocket :D

I love how deeply you looked into the series connection with the game of chess. Each "Checkmate." kept building tension up until the end. Well done. You portrayed Roy quite well.

Yes he is being cliche, but sometimes thinking up a new allegory or metaphor just makes things worse.

Ok, so i know this is an older story by you, but i'd read it before, but i had to come back and read it again because of chapter 62. (have you read it yet?) I have a suspicion that you're psychic or something. But let me tell you it made me so happy... a fanfic come true, in a way. Wow. Great job here again, the fact that there was a similar situation in the manga shows how in tune you are with the charcters... i really admire you. I hope you update some other stories too!
