Oh! wow. Fantastic! That was so much fun to read. I love the similes. "Like a mad chicken." I've seen mad chickens. Chickens with their heads cut off, too. They really do flutter around wildly, and it's almost funny. Except. . . Anyway, point is, that was a marvelous piece of story! Always fun to see Wonka before the factory.

Oh, the phrase with the chalk and the sidewalk - that keeps darting through my head. Very nice.

Can't let milk bottles get all cold and covered in slush. Won't do at all. Seems a very Wonka-y thing to do. Yes indeed, seems to me his character is perfectly in-character, and Mavis, too, from what we know of her, is done lovelyly. Wonderful work.
