I love how Nick has been there for her through all of this, and has realized how much he loves her through it all. It's amazing how you capture their relationship. Even though it's extremely sad, I think it's wonderful. Can't wait for more!

I love Nick and Sara's different reactions to the news of the masectomy. I love how Sara says it so cut and dry. It's good comic relief (OMG! proof that I've been listening in Falhman's classes!). It's good to hear that you know where you're going (I think I know how it's going to end) and I am with you to the end.

Seriously, I thought the 'Let's cut off my boobs' line was hysterical but at the same time it just comes to show how desperate Sara's become. Oh woe as me :(

Oh my God . . . this story is so sad. But I can't wait to read more.

Interesting story!

It's extremely unlikely that someone Sara's age would have tumors this advanced unless she has a family history of very aggressive breast cancer. Additionally, even why they think they can just remove the tumor (a lumpectomy) the patient is asked to sign a consent form for a mastectomy if certain conditions apply to avoid this situation. (We've done this more times that I care to count in my family.)

Self-exams save lives so if you find a suspicious lump don't hesitate to get it checked out. However, if you are under 40 its very, very unlikely to be cancerous or advanced if it is cancerous.

So glad you posted! Nick's bedside manner is so sweet. So sad about the masectomy, but I'm glad Sara seems to have a positive attitude about it. The comment about "cut off my boobs" made me laugh. Great chapter; glad you're continuing!

Aww, that's so sweet, Nick, the romantic. I forgot to mention in the last chapter how much I loved the bit with Nick shaving off his own hair. So sweet... it made me want to cry and grab them both and hug them xD
