Giving flowers as a symbol of love with specific meanings goes back far in Western history as far as I know. The rose symbolizes Mary's love or Christ's in Christianity I think, you see those paintings of Mary with a rose of thorns by her heart. There's a medival french poem called Romance of the Rose, Chaucer wrote about in Cantaberry Tales 700 years ago, so the rose as been around:)

How creative:) I never thought of the antenna, err hair sticking up on Ed's head as a reflection of his personality, but I like the personification (objects take on human like qualities)

Actually, I found the line in chapter 3, there is a thin line between love and hate very profound:) Very sweet! Gotta love drabbles, keep writing. Thank you!
