What a sweet ending. It was nice that James got his artwork displayed, and that Jessie and James got married in the end. After the heartache of previous chapters, it's always nice to see their bond stronger than ever. And now they're getting an addition to their little family...:D

I loved the way you incorporated the nightingale metaphor all the way through; it was really poignant. And this is a very fitting ending.

The painting James has done sounds truly beautiful. I can see it so vividly in my mind.

I'm so happy that Meowth and James finally reconciled - Meowth was still a sweetie, and I'm glad he's helped James regain himself. The part where Meowth says, "'It's da most gorgeous ting I've seen in a while, next ta you coming back ta me,"' was so beautiful, and I'm really glad that he stayed and kept James company.

Jessie was still being self-centred, though I did feel sorry for her, because it can't've been easy adjusting to something like that. But then everything was made better by her finally realising that she still loves James and that she still wants him. The leadup to the love scene was gorgeous and really lovely to read. I'm so happy that Jessie and James are together again.

I can't help but feel frustrated at both Jessie and James in this chapter. Poor James is going through such a tough time, and Jessie really should be trying to support James through his difficult time. On the other hand, James should stop hating Jessie for what happened to him, when he made the choice to (rightly) try and save her. Gah, I really want to bang their heads together! Meowth, at least, is being sane. :P

(By the way, I'm not getting at you - it's /good/ that you're making me feel these things! It shows that you're a great writer. ;))

In regards to the rest of the chapter...I really like the way that James is choosing to express himself. I'm a terrible artist myself, but I would love to have the ability to get things off my chest through drawing. Hopefully this will help heal the rift for James.

A really wonderful start. I love the foreshadowing in the very first paragraph and then the way it is dismissed with the lighthearted beginning in the cabin/house. The mission was thrilling to read about, and I was terrified for Jessie and James for a while there. I'm very happy that James hasn't died, but it's going to be painful having to adjust to having no voice. This will definitely change the dynamics of the trio.

I'm not a big pokemon fan but Jessie, especially James, and Meowth are my fave characters. this is a such wonderful story. love the details, the Nightingale singing at midnight parts, and how you kept the team, especially Meowth in character. some go overboard with Meowth's jokes and puns but you wrote him out quite nicely. great job!
