This is a fun little one shot (are Ranma's observations, for once, correct? Or is he just jumping to conclusions like he did with Ryouga and Ukyou in the manga?). I'm also a bit surprised I hadn't encountered it before now. Well worth tagging with a Fav.

Wonderful. Concise, to the point, touching, and most of all, original. Unlike so many other "traditional" fanfics, I didn't have the slightest idea where it was going as it unfolded before my eyes. The ending was excellent. Beautifully done.

something that she came up with so she can trick Ryouga into
not fighting Kuno and marrying her still
or somewhere along the lines of that...

and the last sentence was a great touch
with Ryouga softly wisphering "Nabiki Hibiki would have been an awfully pretty name"

A well done Nabiki/Ryouga work. I must say that I didn't expected the end of it but it's not bad. I agree that Ryouga wouldn't be important to Ryouga, since it only helps him when he gets into a populated area or for souveniers. Good take over the character's personalities. However it would have been interesting to know a little more of Nabiki's thoughts. After in the begining it was about money but did something change for her or not?

Not the first Nabiki/Ryoga pairing I've seen, though...it didn't end that way. Funny, pretty funny.

now THERE'S an unexpected twist. i would heave thought that you'd pair him up with Akari or Ukyo. never in my wildest dreams (and i have some pretty wild ones) would i have thought of Nabiki. but, the money angle certainly makes it believable. good story.
