Wyndmir 2006-05-15 . chapter 2Ah, and now the guilt and remorse sets in for Brian. Well, we all see it, his icy stare right before his meltdown and the death of Maxwell. Curt really was the love of his life up to that point.
I loved this bit:
"Curt didn’t move. He didn’t acknowledge the man who, to be fair, was only trying to help. But he couldn’t help but resent Jack for acting as if his relationship with Brian had been nothing.
A slight hand on his shoulder, a squeeze, a squeak and Jack was gone, conceding to Curt’s wish to be alone. He sighed as the door closed softly. He still wished Brian had followed him."
It's concise and poignant and reveals things about both Curt *and* Jack's characters. *sigh* VG fic is so pretty...and so depressing!! I still love it though. :D |
Wyndmir 2006-05-15 . chapter 1Aw man, this is so brutal, but brutal in a good way. Brian is very cruel here, and I love the direction you've taken with Curt. Instead of the wild, tantrum-throwing addict we get someone's who's just so beat down and exhausted. When he's in the bedroom it's almost as if he's talking to himself. This is a great accompaniment to the "Heathrow 5km" scene in the movie. Great job! |
