I've only recently come across your work and am committed to making my way through all your fanfics on this site.

You have a light touch in bringing to life what it takes to be a couple on a low income. I like your use of different timeframes to draw a bigger picture of the relationship they share.

Part of me was frustrated that we didn't get to hear what Mal's objections or feelings were based on, at the same time it's one of the things that makes me want to read more.

I especially liked the scene when Wash came home late and left his clothes in a pile while knowing it was going to irritate Zoe, his exhaustion winning out. That's what I call keeping real. I'd like to know more about the planet that they've been living on your opening description added more socio political dynamics to the Alliance domintated Galaxy.

Oh, I like your version of the post-Serenity 'verse! Wash and Zoe, with a baby, eventually staying on Serenity. I can just see the whole crew doting on that baby and protecting him.

Such a lovely fic, with a really nice ending.
The reunion at the end was just how it should have been. Really beautiful.
I also really loved the tense you wrote it in, it brought a lot more to it.
The detail of their life after leaving Serenity was brilliant, and made it all the more awful to hear what they were going through. How mundane it was. It helped explain why they hated it so much. I couldn't imagine them wanting it at all.
The start with the hostility between Mal and Wash was amazing, really really made it all the more... I dunno how to discribe it.
The ending made me smile so much though.

I love this portrait of domesticity. You have such a knack for bringing to life the mundane details of daily routine, and imbuing them with emotional undercurrents. There's something vaguely heartbreaking about their life on Darendra, which makes their reunion with the rest of the crew all the more sweet. No, I probably wouldn't raise a child on Serenity. But who knows? Little Leon could turn out to be a butt-kicking, gunslinging, dinosaur-wielding pilot prodigy.

And I'd also like to add that your insight into Zoe's willingness to follow in the bedroom is surprising, yet somehow spot-on. You've turned Zoe/Wash into an art form.
