This is wonderfully written. Your descriptions have a beautifully poetic twist and your style is thoroughly refreshing. I'm glad someone's taking the time to do "the final battle" with a good helping of poignancy.

It's still early, and because you haven't yet revealed where this story is going, I can't comment on plot or much else. But the first chapter was very well written and I am quite intruiged... looking foreword to seeing where this goes.

Liked this! The change in POVs was an interesting plot device. Sess was very much 'him' in the decisions that he made to dispose of the combatants. Pacing was good, and I was intrigued right off the bat with the 'death wasn't supposed to hurt...' intro, which tipped me off that Something Had Gone Wrong and I wanted to find out What.
