Love this. I like the way you started in present day with such a traumatic event- flashed back- and then came back to present day seconds before the event. I also think you do a very good job of getting across their feelings for each other-- I could actually "see" the scenes playing out in my head.
Little depressed now, though... but that's just kinda the nature of Lee and Kara's relationship, isn't it? :)

Aw - Hades! That was so *not* buddies! You know, my initial reaction was to hate it and I didn't want to post a review. But then I thought - wow, you totally inspired such a visceral reaction in me -- that must be darn good writing so I had review to say so! I'll stop drinking the sour-grape haterade now.

Frakking stray bullets. I think there should be an epilogue where Kara grabs Lee's gun and just opens fire on all the morons shooting in the air -- bastards! Abruptly taking Lee away from Kara ... after a year and a stupid marriage couldn't keep them apart! Ugh! See - you got me all riled up. Which is my point for this review. Good job. As much as I don't like it when Kara and Lee don't live happily ever after (or just don't live for that matter), I've gotta hand it to you here. Very powerful!

Now how about something completely angst-free, sappy, and maybe even a little smutty for good measure? Your Yang needs some Yin balance, no? Teehee. Really though - good job, and thanks for fic.

Wow, that was definitely powerful. Love that comes too late. Seems to be a common theme around here these days - this isn't the first one I've read with an illicit affair thing happening, not to mention I'm planning on writing one myself.

When you had Lee say 'I married Lee' it was almost like a slap in the face to me too - came as a shock - I thought this was a 'he died and she discovered too late that she loved him' type of story. Didn't think there would be a Lee/Dee thing happening - thanks for surprising me!
