That was beautiful. I love how they are both so insecure, and I do love how Hakkai was so...real. He CRIED. It makes him seem so realistic.

I saw that episode two days ago, and my reactions were similar to yours. Dissappointment. But after that episode up to where I am now, I don't recall any instances of Gojyo flirting, There was even this one episode where Hakkai, Gojyo, and Goku are in a bath, and then Gojyo mentions his confusion about this character named Fumika's feelings. The way Hakkai's face looked (the plastic look) when he said "Are you jealous?" made me happy again~

ENOUGH OF MY RAMBLING! I'm so sorry, I just needed to let that out. I've read this story before, and after watching that episode, I was on a hunt to find it; I'm so happy I did. This story really tears at my heart. It's so well-written and it makes me more confident in 58.
What was Minekura-sensei thinking when she allowed this in the anime? D:

Oh, I must say this: You're one of those authors who suceeded making a Gojyo POV without making him terribly OOC! Kawaii! I actually found this months ago (Like the two other fics I read, buhuhuhuhuhuhuhu)but lost it's URL... But now that I found it again, we! Might as well add this to my faves... And I agree, I really hate that episode! Though, I've watched it almost a dozen of times (And also the other episodes... Hell, the whole trilogy!) Anyway, Make a sequel! This is what I would call.. a cliffhanger! Come on! Sequel! Sequel!

If you could see the look on my face...I'm awestruck! That was by far the best fic I've read here, and I have read a few decent ones.
They were perfectly in character, from actions to words, and the plot, the story...just everything was wonderful. I'm so impressed! What a talent you posses.
Only one thing, however. When Gojyo says 'coz', it's acceptable. Hakkai...maybe...he is more of a 'because' kinda guy. Absolutely doesn't work when it's the 'narration'.( though it works fine when it's in Gjyo's head) Just a helpful hint.
Wonderful job, once again! I look forward to reading more of your work.

This is pretty well-written. I liked it.

However, I was pretty surprised by your comment at the end of the first chapter when you mention that Gojyo's having sex bothered you all that much... I really cannot understand why. He has never made secret of the fact that he likes women, ne? And I'd always assumed - even before that episode - that Gojyo had had sex before. All that reference to "erotic kappa" and all couldn't be *just* because he flirts, right? It is really very, very naive to imagine that - I don't mean to insult you or anything. After all, there were these two guys in Gaiden who jeered at Konzen/Sanzo saying that he was a "pedophile" and there were bold hints of Hakkai/Tenpou-Gojyo/Kenren... not to mention the manga art... Saiyuki, to say the least, isn't all G material. The very fact that Gojyo had sex with that woman made the whole thing that went on between them real.

Well, I had to say that because I just couldn't help 'defending' the kappa, ^_^ After all, he seemed to be more emotionally attached to that woman that he was to any other in the series, in my opinion - and sex was just one way of showing his feelings.

Anyway, keep writing. You're good at it.
