Okay, that was a rather cryptic remark for Barret. So what’s Cloud doing that has him up in arms? hehe Didn’t mean it that way, but whatever! Cloud’s been making lots of trips to Junon, or is he living closer to the place, or even at Junon itself? And what happened to Tifa and the others?

Ah ha! So Reeve is Chairman of Shinra and living at Junon? Makes sense, since Midgar is probably mostly wreckage after Meteor, eh? So each of these crumbling materia crystals are being found where a Weapon resided? That would explain the one in the desert, outside the Gold Saucer, right? But what about Nibel reactor? Jenova? Hmm. ~`~ If it’s the Weapons left over bodies or something, then there should be one in the ocean off Junon harbor, one in the area where Ultimate Weapon blew up near Cosmo Canyon, one near Midgar where Diamond fell and probably one deep in the ocean where Emerald was swimming about looking for trouble. But we kinda blew them all up when we played the game. So maybe in this story they didn’t all die, or they did but left enough of themselves to keep the planet trying to protect itself? I’m going in circles now. Help!

And there’s the answer to one of my previous questions! Thanks!! So they did try to plug off the reactors to stop the flow and it didn’t work. And the planet is bleeding to death? Uh oh! Blue suited spies in the Chairman’s building, letting someone know Cloud and Barret are out? Does that mean they’re after Reeve, or Cloud and Barret? And does that also mean that Shinra is still around? Interesting puzzle you have going on here.

I hate you!! You meany!! Now I HAVE to WAIT till the NEXT UPDATE! Yarrghh! But this is getting good so don’t quit or I’ll have to hunt you down and string you up, or maybe do a little chopping with Cloud’s sword. Yeah! I like that! :p Just kidding. Or not~!

Eep! Another nitpick, and so close to the beginning. But you know I gotta! ^.^ So here’s my question.
One man was seated in the open mess tent, drinking a package-made brew and watching the buggy approach. He had a long face with blond hair and a goatee, and sported a faint beard {{I thought a goatee was a beard?}} that spoke to a disinterest in shaving; his grimy work clothes, and person in general, moreover pointed to someone who had neither showered in quite some time nor had a reason to.
I love the way you describe the surroundings and the people. It’s grim and kinda depressing, but really well written without the obvious grammatical or spelling mistakes I keep running into in many of the fics I read. It’s a real pleasure reading this!

Who’s this “she” they’re talking about? Jenova? Or Aeris? And why is the mako dying? Sounds like the crystallized Lifestream is breaking apart with the Planet. That can’t be good. ~`~ And does Cloud have some sixth sense about what’s going on, or does he just sense something like that female SOLDIER because he’s mako enhanced? Curiouser and curiouser. Hehe

That was totally weird! Materia changing to rubber, then morphing through Cloud’s hand. What’s happening? And why does everyone see some kind of image inside the materia crystal? Is Sephiroth’s shadow bouncing around from one part of the planet to another? And is Cloud going to get called to fight against him again? That sucks! Hehe But I’m liking it. ^.~

This is getting better and better. You got me hooked, so now you’ve got to finish it! Yep! I won’t settle for less than a complete and perfect fanfic here. And I like your style! Keep it up, okay?

Whoa! Okay, that was weird. The female SOLDIER was strange enough, but seeing what seems like Sephiroth moving beneath the mako in the Nibel reactor was even stranger! What’s going on here? And why does the Nibel reactor still have plenty of mako when the others don’t? It can’t really be drawing off the land, or else the others would too, right? Yuck! Hojo’s nightmares survived seven years after Meteor? Guess that could happen, since they were on automatic. So Jenova’s up to her old games, eh? Nice shot with the lightning bolt!

Wow. That was supremely depressing. Sounds like the Lifestream is leaking like an open wound from Midgar’s reactors? Can’t they just plug them up or something? And I kind of got confused about whether Cloud and gang were standing on the cliffs of the crater, outside Midgar or on the Highwind? And the title, Omega… does that have anything to do with the FF7: DoC game’s Omega or is it just the End Of The World Omega?

So now you’ve got me curious and I want to learn more about where you’re going with this. You are going to finish the fic, right? Cause I don’t want to get sucked into a good story if it’s going to come to an abrupt and irritating stop just at the good part. I’ll make you a promise, though. If you keep writing, I’ll keep reviewing. Promise! Kay?

I'm totally intrigued by this girl, too. Mostly because I don't know if she /is/ from SOLDIER, or if Tifa just went insane and stole Cloud's personality. And is that Jenova talking to her?

Anyway! I'm all wanting to read more of this now! Or at least hear the rest of the story some day!

Thanks for uploading this for me! I can see what you mean about it being old, but I thought there was some cool stuff here too. I really liked how many references to the game there were, like Barret's "Shi't" and Cid's "#&!"

[The omnipresent black clouds that occupied the skies around Midgar were gone.] This really struck me as interesting; I'd never really thought about it before, but those clouds WOULD have disappeared after all that. Unless, of course, they were replaced by cloud of smoke, fire, and destruction, but. The point remains.

[The entire city was in ruin.] I didn't quite understand the ending -- especially considering the very last bit, with Red XI, but I think this is a good explanation. Even if Holy /didn't/ hate humanity, the comet and everything still ended up ruining Midgar. And that tiny point of green that Cloud sees is the beginning of the Planet reclaiming the city for its own.
