In Dragonsdawn, the fire lizards Impress their hatchlings, but after that it's not mentioned again for some reason. The instinct to do so might have faded as more and more were Impressed by humans.

Wow, that was really cool! I'm a BIG fan of Anne McCaffrey's dragons, and your story really captured what I thought fire lizards thoughts were like. Googd job! I really enjoyed reading this, especially sonce no-one really writes any good Pern stuff... very sad... let me know if you've heard of any other good authors, or if you write anything else!

I loved it, it seemed exactly what a Queen Firelizard would think, you should do one in Merga, or Beauty's point of view about the Hatching of Kimi and Zair, or one in Berd's point of view of the Hatching, when Brekke tried to re-impress a queen.
