Father indeed. Anyway, I found it sweet what Kuro-tan said in the first chapter, that Fai has that much potential to love. Indeed Fai is self destructive, may he find solarence.

I knew you were going to just because you were hinting at it like crazy. This was awesome...Like crazy awesome. Like perfect awesome. I, personally, can see Fay being hard to write since he's...Fay...but it was done perfectly and awesomely (had to say it again). And I loved the end, I was waiting for Kurogane to snap and throw him in the water...This was just as good, hehe.

vampslyr 2006-09-14 ch 2, anon.	abuseShit, he's doing it this way to keep Kurogane from getting too close and coming to care about Fay? That's just sick, he seriously needs some help. I can understand him just wanting to get lost in feelings and forget his past, but when that festering pit in his soul finally opens up and releases his pent up emotions it's gonna be ugly. And there he is berating Kurogane for keeping things bottled up. I'd like to see more of this and see where you're going to take it.

It wasn't that the writing is bad, but the characterizations just felt way, way off for me. On a whim, I decided to skim through the second chap and...I. WAS. HOOKED. Your Fay POV really put a different spin of the story. He isn't a weak masochistic angstbunny who thinks himself only good for sex, he's a morally corrupt person, unapologetic about it, yet still manages to be a nice guy. 'Maybe it was cowardly to be selfish. He didn't mind that. If it didn't hurt anyone, didn't lead him to fail anyone who needed him, he didn't mind that at all.' That line sums up all my love for your Fay. Awesome, awesome chapter. ps. I think I might now this doujinshi you're refering to...

I really wish there had been a little more focus on Fai and Kurogane during the Shurano arc in the manga itself, but CLAMP just sort of breezed right over them. Such wasted potential for fun! Fai and Kurogane are more believable here than in the majority of other fics I've read lately. Kurogane in particular, given his conflicting emotions regarding Fai, his moral duty, and his own lust, is wonderful to read. And poor brain-damaged Fai, sacrificing his own dignity for simple human contact! _ I love this fic! I love it. But...I'm confused. Will this be continued? Judging by the date you uploaded it, I'm going to assume not.
