I thought that was one of the best lines in the story, it really showed how alike and yet how utterly different the two are. I find Song's irritation with Zuko's mushroom gathering ability to be sad, you really show how Zuko has been thrown into a world he can't understand. "the citizens of his country bowed in his presence. Yet here was Song, seeing only the pale imitation of his former glory and witness to his own acts of desperation and still she did not hate him. " Another excellent point, Zuko is learning to value the Zuko part of his name as much as the prince. His life has meaning even as a person, not just a prince. Another fine chapter, and I can't wait for the amazing conclusion.

You've made her your own in a way, and she is splendid. Zuko is hardly the smooth player or outsdoorman most ficcers try to make him out to be (as is displayed in the show), and I find your usage of this in your fic perfect. You are to be applauded for the IC. Oh, it better keep going. It's too fantastic to die like that. And if you don't continue it rest assured, the continuation of it will become a future challenge. Plus, with me clugging along through Ozai's Angels I'm rather comforted by the thought of you laboring over this. So do update soon, please. :)

This reads as if Song is trying to distract him from her because she is uncomfortable with his attention on her - because she doesn't trust herself and she knows they have no future together. Zuko appears to be attracted despite himself, but there's no thought of permanence for him either. You've built up a lot of sad, hopeless passion here. At least one of them will be better off for this meeting, but I'm not sure both of them will be. This is very good, and your characterizations are so strong. This kind of writing makes me happy.

Though, probably not the kiss part, but I think that Zuko is going to take the Ostrich-Horse back to their house and confront them and ask for forgiveness, who knows what that could evolve into, huh? Technically, the stealing the Ostrich-Horse was his first misdeed and its what kicked him off on his desperate spree of stealing...Great story dont stop and please Update soon
