Quadrantje 11/20/08 . chapter 1Oh, this is just too much! I once got a comment from a friend of mine on some LJ post that what I'd written was so funny, he'd fallen off his chair laughing and was now hoping his parents hadn't heard him as it was four in the morning. With your story, I find myself in a similar situation, in hoping that I haven't awoken my roommate with the loud peals of laughter your story inspired in me. I especially enjoyed the line about Hephaestion throwing his father a look exactly like his mother used to do, that really had me in stitches. So, to summarise a long review: it's a hilarious story and I liked it very much. ME |
estelle.evenstar72 6/16/08 . chapter 1So touchingly sweet...totally laughed out loud! Absolutely adorable. xox |
Pls. Delete My Account 4/28/08 . chapter 1This is such an amusing story! Alexander is so cute and Hephaestion is such a wise-ass, but a cute one at that! :D |
Mariella 8/26/07 . chapter 1 That was so sweet! I love it! I like your description of Amyntor and of his relationship to Hephaistion. Heph and Alex are truly a power o behold, aren't they? ;-) |
Lysis 6/23/06 . chapter 1I found another story by you I hadn't yet read! This makes me happy. I loved your little Hephaistion giving little Alexander a strong shove in greeting. I can just see this! After all they were boys, and ancient Macedonian ones at that. I can't imagine that boys have changed all that much over the centuries. I love the stories you write when they are little. I'm so glad you make them real and believable rather than sugary sweet and mincing around as though they were afraid to get their hands dirty. I have a feeling the historic Alexandros and Hephaistion were holy terrors even when young! |

purple lolly 5/15/06 . chapter 1Aww this story really made me laugh oh the delights of childhood mayhem and giving parents and Nannies heart failures. Brilliant story :) |
queen-isabell 5/15/06 . chapter 1Cuteness! Very funny! |
Joyeee 5/14/06 . chapter 1Aw-w-w, Alexander and Hephaestion are so cute! The "devious little tykes" really remind me of the Tasmanian Devil, tearing around and wreaking havoc and playing games that others might regard as violent but to them is just pure fun! That "violent shove" Hephaestion greets Alexander with really made me laugh! (Children are pretty elastic, I'm not surprised at all that Alexander wasn't hurt by this!) The pair's already formidable, getting Amyntor to "give in" like that, Hephaestion with his "Athene" angle and Alexander with that wonderful sunny smile! Of course, Amyntor's always wonderful! Keep relieving stress this way all you want! |
parisad 5/14/06 . chapter 1Oh my dear, what a beautiful and funny story! I can't write funny fic, but I like reading them and yours is so nice! Alexander and Hephaestion as children are always sweet. I hope you will write more funny fics :) Hugs and thanks for this story! |
Hikari Schezar 5/12/06 . chapter 1I love it! Such an adorabley sweet bit of fluffy goodness. Great job, I hope you write more like it! |
MLygia 5/12/06 . chapter 1Well, I hope that you to continue "coming up with fluffy little stories like this lately, as a sort of stress relief". We loved them. |
Norrsken 5/12/06 . chapter 1Hello moon71, This is so lovely and adoring! The little ones playing their - already - violent games in the orchard. I like their running away and their creative imagination, always up to some mischief preparing them to the adventures of real life. You bring the Pella Palace and its orchard alive with their - not especially - childish games. It's so wonderful, Hephaestion coming to defend and liberate his Beautiful Golden One, a Role Playing Game repeated over and over again in real life. Little Alexander in tears because his True Steadfast Friend will get a spanking and go to bed without supper is quite endearing! Amyntor is a surprisingly modern parent, listening to the children explaining their game - and then letting them continue undr his supervision. His final lines are quite prophetic: “but I can’t help but fear for the world when those two dear little things are finally let loose upon it…!” All the best wishes and many thanks for sharing, /NorthernLight |
CoralDawn 5/12/06 . chapter 1Aww... so very cute! I love the boys being their age and playing games based on their mythic heroes. It's interesting how from such a tender age, Alexander grows up giving control to Hephaistion in their games and trusting him to such a degree. I love the way you are fleshing out characters in your own "universe" with deft touches in different stories: Amyntor, Hermias, Actaeon (I recognize the last two from your last story!) |
