I doubt it. I actually think that Appa will be with Zuko and Iroh, Zuko knowing the beast belongs to the Avatar returns Appa to Aang. Katara, asks them if they want to travel with them. Zuko, being Zuko, declines, Iroh convinced him and they join the group. Leaving Ba Sing Se.
