akene 2007-12-30 ch 12, anon.	abusei thought i'd just write in and say that i enjoyed this story a lot-- it's well written and engaging, and you've managed to stay true to the characters (and even expand on them!) and general theme of RENT, while still staying believable. as that's hard to do, i think that commendations and thanks are in order for your excellent contribution and effort. Great job, and great story!
aradioactivehamster 2007-08-19 ch 12, anon.	abuseI read this entire fic in one evening (this is coming from a oneshot addict, too), after combing through every RENT fic on and I have to say it was completely worth it just to find this one story. Everything worked and flowed wonderfully, and there was a balance that allowed everyone to be in character and still convey emotion without being either completely robotic or hormonal teenage girls. Also, I love that this wasn't bound by the movie-timeline, I really never made peace with the years they chose. Thank you for doing your research, too, for all of the small things that drive anal-retentive me crazy. (The Workshop references made me happy too, unless I completely imagined those.) All in all, I can't think of anything artistic to critique. Maybe run your chapters through a spell/grammar check, there were a few punctuation and capitalization errors, maybe a typo here and there. Other than that, I may build a new religion off of this story =) Write more RENT?

Your characterization was incredible. My only slight problem with the story was that it seemed like there was a whole lot of traumatic problems and conflicts to happen to such a small group of people, but I guess that's what kept me reading. I especially loved your Roger and Mark relationship and that you didn't make Benny a bad guy. I think Jonathon Larson would be honored to have such a fabulous fanfiction based off of his baby. I can't wait to read more from you. Do you have any original stories? seriously, write a book.

At the present time I can't really express my emotion for everything that's going on here...uh, so wait until I'm done and then I'll just pour it all out. That is IF I haven't died from the ineffable characterizations in this story.
Cybele Adam 2006-08-20 ch 12,	abuseSo... I'm reviewing - or, at least, I'm trying to review. Which is not easy because the thought of writing in English to an English native-speaker always worry me. I feel so stupid when I make mistakes and don't notice them before the review is sent! Anyway... That was a very good fic - I mean, really, really good. The story seems so realistic! They should make a second film based on it. ^^ I particularly like the fact that, even if there are quite a lot of angst in the story, you always manage to put some funny - or even hilarious - line somewhere in the chapter. Then I also like the way you managed to write a very cute scene with Roger and Mark without making it a Roger/Mark slash scene (I do like slash - actually, I read and write almost only that - but Roger/Mark is just so unrealistic!). I almost forgot to mention I was there thanks to Nuwie (that you may know by some reviews of Harry Potter fics, since you're in her favorite authors list). I talked about Rent to her and she said I should read this fic - that she hadn't read, since she doesn't know Rent, but she knows you're a good author so she was sure I would like it. And she was so right! ^_^ Well, I hope you'll write something else about Rent someday. But, even if you don't, I'll surely write another review for you sooner or later, since I had intention to read your Harry Potter fics as well. See you soon (well, when I have time to read something else... I have an awfully long list of fics to read!). Cybèle (like Adam Pascal's wife, except for the French spelling - and yes, I chose "Adam" as a last name because of him, too ^^).
Desist's Sister 2006-08-20 ch 12, anon.	abuseThis was quite good. I felt like you had a handle on all the characters, and I really enjoyed the plot (actions, consequences, etc). I will definitely be recommending it to my Rent-fan sister.
wwonder 2006-08-15 ch 12,	abuseI just found this fic a couple days ago, and I devoured it. This was probably one of the best Rentfics I've read. You obviously put a whole lot of thought into this, and the results are amazing. You had awesome characterization and description. The idea of Mark and Maureen being kidnapped could have easily been cheesy. It just seems so different from the theme of the show, but you did it wonderfully and I loved it. All in all, this was emotionally touching, and I hope you'll keep writing in this fandom.
Jobey in Error 2006-08-03 ch 12,	abuse“In, like, the last ten minutes, you and Mark have both apologized and admitted I was right.” What a fine progressive way to end the fic. :-) And it being on Halloween too (though I guess this is because canonically speaking Angel died on Halloween?) And I'm glad Mark things it's been a great year. The first reaction was "Whoa" but I think it was intentional on the author's part. Anyway, I had a good time with this fic and I think any reader who didn't would have to be an idiot or something. In other good news: somewhere in this chapter I stopped disliking Collins. Really. (Probably you'll wind up telling me you had him OOC in this chapter, but still!) At any rate, I now dislike him less than anyone else. I may as well confess that I didn't always like the characters - or, more to the point, the universe they lived in, or the values and emotions you have to adopt for the fandom. But I was entertained and I think you rather deftly covered a ton of ground. This was an impressive fic you just finished. A lot was packed into it - in the present and not-quite-flashbacks, but that way you have of having to drag in some memories to explain what's going on just now in a sentence or two. I liked how Mimi liked the metaphor enough to repeat it and Mark was nauseated. That's pretty funny (especially cause Mark is tough enough to handle it). Brilliant ending. It wasn't even sappy! Terrific understatement.
