I liked it. Good story.

This is interesting on two levels in particular. The first is that it would make for a great AU.

The second is that it could be cannon. Luke forgot because he was too young.

The more of your stories I read, the more enchanted I am with your vision and your writing. Beru's attachment to Luke and vice versa is so real and so natural. And I love Luke's instant bond with his father. Beru's wonder at the communication between father and son, at the fact that Luke obviously has this entirely Other facet to himself that she and Owen had been unaware of was just beautiful.

A good short story that could be expanded, if the author wished. The characters run true to canon, the emotions are well played...this is one for the favorites list.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this!

Vader is a real softie in your story, and I'm amazed how well he controls himself considering he's visiting Tattooine, the place of his mother's violent death. His and Luke's rapport by the end of his visit is moving. This fic makes one think about fairness and how a story has always two sides. Life is not fair to Obi-Wan in any case. Will things end well? We do not know, but the hope remains.

Lovely. Nice how he didn't decide to go mad at Owen and Beru - after all, how likely is it that they *did* know Anakin had become Vader? Owen was more concerned about the Jedi than anything else. Vader/Anakin felt kinship in that they were both deceived. And quite cool how he gave the money to provide for them.
