Daniel giving them hell how cool is that!

SPOILER Daniel is prisoner in Russia, and then he gets kidnapped, and then kidnapped again... I really, really, really hope the author gets back to this, and finishes it, soon.

Poor Daniel, from one hornets' nest to another, oy. And, although the focus is primarily on Daniel, I like how you pay attention to other characters, as well, Jack especially. Thanks! Khentkawes 2007-07-29 ch 17,	abuseI should have known that was too easy. Still, you can't blame a girl for being optimistic. Either way, I didn't quite see this twist coming. Though once again, it makes perfect sense, so I probably should have. Daniel just won't let someone else get hurt because of him. Even if he disliked the person, he would still try to save them, and after all Makepeace has tried to do for him, he probably feels guilty for putting Robert in this position anyway. Kudos to Makepeace for doing the right thing. Although Jack now has two captives to rescue. And seriously, what's up with his captors? What exactly do they plan on doing with the documents Daniel translates? It's not like they have access to the Stargate...or do they? Or are they expecting plans for some alien weapon? sigh somehow, I just never understand the motives of insane villains. I guess that's because they're insane, isn't it? grin Anyway, I was so happy for an update that I just had to give you a long review to tell you how excited I was. I was sucked in at the beginning and couldn't stop reading. Nice and suspenseful. Keep writing!

Jasmine 2007-07-29 ch 17, anon.	abuseOh my goodness! I'm on the edge of my seat, and I can't wait for more! I'm surprised to see Daniel actually cooperating, since in this tale he's been so compltely, beautifully stubborn! But you're so right - Daniel would realize that Makepeace has betrayed the bad guys, and thus is very expendable - in fact, they're more likely to kill him than not. A hostage for Daniel's good behavior is all the value they'd see in Makepeace at this point, so Daniel needs to make them think that their strategy will work in order to keep robert alive. But I'm wondering how he'll keep from giving them any real information. Maybe this first document is militaristically useless, so he can go ahead and translate it correctly? It's very likely that they'd start out with documents that they've really already translated, so they can verify his willingness to do accurate work. I think Daniel would realize this, so I imagine he'd try to do correct work, at least on the first few pieces. I hope he can hold out and keep Robert alive until Jack comes! So many times, he's been so close to rescue, and yet so far! Maybe today will be Daniel's day - and poor Jack, who must be seething with frustration after so long of not being able to bring his archeologist home! I'm eagerly awaiting the next update!
