Ginny McAllister 2008-07-15 ch 4,	abuseI didn't read this the first time it was posted -- mostly because the blurb seemed to indicate a story centered around Ryouga (while I prefer Ranma). Wow, what a mistake that was! First, let me say that your mechanics are excellent. Super spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentance and paragraph construction. But, you probably knew that already. I just wanted to recognize the point. Second, your characters feel true to their original series. Ryouga rings true to the obsessed, blind, lost, and yet lovable knucklehead that we know from Ranma. He's a mass of good and bad, rolled up in an angsty package. Meanwhile, the Titans are all very interesting, and dialog and behavior feel real, feel right. Particularly well done is the meshing of powers and abilities between the two worlds. Things such as Ryouga vs. Mammoth. Mammoth is astoundingly strong (stronger than Ryouga), but this time it's Ryouga that needs to pull out the skill to win against a stronger opponent. And Cologne coaching Raven on meditation... brilliant! So, thanks for a delightful read. I had to comment, even though I'm only up to chapter 4 so far. Thanks!
ashez2ashes 2008-06-23 ch 23,	abuseHeh, I finally got the Ryouga stays with the Titans part that I wanted but... after all the darkness it's not fun like I thought it would be. It was very well written of course, although I think the focus could have been tighter. I guess it just didn't turn out to be the type of story I was hoping it would be when I finished the first arc. The soul of ice training had me hoping the story was going to focus more on Ryouga's self improvement... Its so disheartening. Even with the attempts in the epilogue to bring it around into the light, I'm just not feeling it. Ryouga feels like Outsider or Checkmate material now instead of a Titan. Like, there's a point where you gets so far into a certain tone that you just can't come back, and the line doesn't always start and end with characters killing. sigh I don't even know if I should send this review. Please, please don't feel insulted or anything. You write very very well, and you have the rare drive to actually finish stories. I feel like I've got awefully shaky ground to stand on when offering criticism. But in your author notes you asked for honest so well... here's honest.

And its even more depressing cause you were very nice in your review reply, but I always feel this strange urge to be honest, which makes me depressed in real life and... aargh... Out of curiousity... did you change your mind halfway through to make this a Jinx/Ryouga fic instead of a Raven/Ryouga because of reviews? Or was that the plan all along?

Have you considered posting this as two seperate stories if you ever post it to another site? Because it really is essentially two stories: one about Ryouga meeting the Titans, and another about the hive academy and Nerima. The two parts have vastly different tones, and it would seem appropriate. Man is this depressing, I reckon I could let off a shi shi hodokan myself right about now. (This has nothing to do with the quality of the fic, I've just become a mental wuss and try to avoid depressing stories now).
ashez2ashes 2008-06-23 ch 20,	abuseNow, the Ryouga parts in this chapter were very very good. You did a great job at ping-ponging between whether he was going to end up with Jinx or Raven. You definitly had me going there. I just wish the focus wasn't all over the place. I'll even give you Nabiki and Kasumi's side stories but, I got really bogged down by tons of the others.
ashez2ashes 2008-06-23 ch 19,	abuseAh, finally, he remembers. I liked the first part of this fic a lot more then the hive storyline, which kinda drags after starfire and ryouga's fight. That fight was so epic everything else felt a little stretched out. It also could be that I was mainly interested in what was going on with Ryouga and skimmed the Nerima crew's part... That's more of a personal preference thing though.

It's pretty hard to come up with anything else when the story is consistently great. The fanfic definitely ended well. Left things open for the equally if not more enjoyable sequel.

The final battle against Headmaster was great, Ryouga and Jinx moment after he took a blow for her and Starfire's scene where that save everyone from the massive Perfect Shi Shi Hokodan, and Kasumi capture, and of course her flooring the headmaster. Certainly great moments among others in this chapter. Certainly one of my favorite chapters in the fic.

ashez2ashes 2008-06-21 ch 7,	abuseHeh, I thought Cologne was being awefully helpful here... XD Loved that revelation. It snapped Cologne back into character nicely. So Dark Ryouga is up next huh? I wonder if he'll buy black clothes. Cause that's what you do in comic book universes when you go evil... You know I bet the DC universe Hot Topics are like, filled with villiany (more so than they are in our universe at any rate).
ashez2ashes 2008-06-20 ch 6,	abuseHere's a few random notes I wrote while reading this chapter. Please excuse me if they're verbal diarhea-ish: I love the dicotomy of Robin's view of their training vs. everyone else. Great joke, it got a loud chuckle out of me. Starfire insulting someone in order to help them is vastly amusing as well. Starfire's revelation of her past was nicely done. I don't remember that bit of Starfire's past coming out in the anime, but its a nice touch. Hmm, some of Ryouga's issues seem to be worked through quite quickly, but then again its hard to tell how stubborn he would be with a willing ear to listen to him. He never got that in canon so there's not much basis a comparsion I guess.
